We were greeted by a nice woman who asked if we had been there before. We said “no” and she explained everything to us. We couldn’t believe the prices for the amount of food we got. Great value! I ordered the pulled pork, mac & cheese, fries, Texas toast with a Mt. Dew. My wife ordered the pulled pork nachos with water. I left a 20% tip and our total was only $28.32. And we both had leftovers. So basically 4 meals for under $30. Good luck finding that at any other BBQ place. My wife and I agreed that this is probably our new favorite restaurant in the area. We will definitely be back!

I was looking for a place to eat while I was in Hartford and found this little gem. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. It’s nice to get full boats for sides and not just the bare minimum, especially when the sides are great like these were. We ordered the sampler which cost $30 and I think it was more than worth it. The meats (brisket, pulled pork, thigh/leg) were all excellent. They were out of baked beans and slaw by the time we got there so they gave us three containers of macaroni and cheese which was also excellent. Their sauces were also really good. There was a younger kid working the counter who was probably of high school age who was really nice and helpful. This place had the feel of a family-run restaurant and my kid and I left there very satisfied.

A casual place to eat. The service was quick. Portions are large. Prices are very reasonable. The BBQ style is about bringing out the rich flavor of quality meat. It's not about covering up the meat in a sauce. The star here is the meat! The brisket was juicy and tender. There is a nice touch of bark but not thick, wasted burnt ends. The sauces are served on the side as not to overwhelm the meat. There are 3 sauces to choose from: traditional, sweet, and Chipotle. Liked all three!
This place is a hidden gem! A diamond in the rough! The food and people were amazing and what a view outside! I will be coming back!!

Phenomenal place, family owned and operated. BBQ was the best I've had in years. The food has nuances from Texas and carolina. Everything is made in-house, even the sauces. We (2of us) got the sampler and had 2 take out boxes full of leftovers. Do Not miss out on Build a Brew BBQ!
