Let's start with the paper bag... 12# top quality and the cardboard containers for the burger and fries are awesome. Silly to say but these are the details that resonate Quality! It's a carry out and as such, I want to be able to actually carry my hot food without the bag failing...First class smashie burger! I make my own quite well, yet will be coming back to Retro because this is hands down the best smash burger available on the east side. They nailed the bun taboot!Finally, the fries... excellent, stout, firm exerior but soft in the middle, not greasy like so many others and no odd after taste (cooking oils?) that I've noticed from many others.I love what this culinary team has done for Bainbridge food! If you’re fortunate enough to have had a pizza from Pizzeria DiLauro, your expectations for their new sister restaurant Retro Burger will be high. Safe to say Retro Burger meets and even exceeds those expectations. In my opinion DiLauro is as good of a pizza as you’ll have this side of the George Washington Bridge and Retro Burger should draw similar reviews from their patrons. It’s a smash burger done right, with perfectly melted cheese covering a couple perfectly cooked patties between an exquisitely soft, fresh bun. I accidentally ordered without any condiments and while this would be a deal breaker at many burger joints, it almost added to the experience here. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve ever enjoyed a burger with nothing on it until here. And by enjoy, I mean I ate the double in about 3 minutes, while simultaneously trying to slow myself down to enjoy every delicious bite. Safe to say, if the owners of DiLauro/RetroBurger open another restaurant, move it to the top of your to eat list.

If you like Shake Shack, 5-Guys or Swenson's burgers... this burger crushes them. The fries aren't anything exotic, but very good and not greasy at all and not too salty either.The atmosphere is a retro '70's takeout burger joint. Very small with only 2 chairs... but I'm enjoying my meal at a nearby brewery anyway

Ordered via DoorDash, best quality burger I can get locally right now, got a triple smash burger and it was crispy on the edges, tender in the middle, the retro sauce is a nice smash burger sauce, and the fries have a seasoning usually left to curly fries, and they weren’t soggy upon deliver (so many places pack fries in a styrofoam box or other closed container that just steams them on the drive).

So, I got a single cheeseburger with bacon, fries with side of retro sauce & a chocolate shake. $20. It was ok.I really could not taste the burger. Since they are smash burgers and thin, I guess you need to get 2 or 3 to be able to taste the meat and have balance between the amount of bun & toppings but that takes you from an $8 burger to $10/$12. I would skip the bacon and try a double. The bun had a nice flavor and the toppings were fresh.The fries NEED the sauce as they are a thicker cut and had no real flavor or seasoning.The chocolate shake was fine but at $6, I would skip.

Great fast service. Pleasant workers. The order was complete and correct. Easy online ordering. We got 3 burgers, all different, 3 fries and 3 shakes. The food is good. Was it phenomenal? No, But it is good. The fries were pretty basic to me. Nothing different about them. The burger is good but it's missing something. I think the bun is wrong, either texture or size to hold up to the burger and toppings. The shakes were good but again nothing that stands out about them. The biggest issue is price point. We'll try again if the menu changes.
