On multiple occasions have I called wanting to dine in on their open nights or get take out if it wasn’t an option.. they don’t answer their phone. Their food is so good but their communication is awful.

Great food but now when you go to the restaurant the waitress has to check to see if it is ok to seat you no matter what time you arrive at the restaurant. I will not be returning as this is an insane policy. I called one time and the owner said he had eggplant and when I arrived they turned me away.

I am so glad that I finally tried Violante's. We did carry out last night. It was fantastic. We had appetizers, pasta, a chicken dish and Pizza. All was tasty and well prepared. My husband is Italian-American from New York and can be picky, but their marinara passed his test. Food was the perfect temperature (which can be hard for carryout). Will definitely order again and also go for in person dining.

Very disappointing we went there this evening we called to see if they were serving eggplant because last weekend we were there and they ran out so owner said that he had plenty of eggplant we are 20 minutes away we get there and the waitress turns us away saying she's not serving any more customers and we had just told her that we called him 20 minutes ago they did not seem to care we understand about the Covid but this had nothing to do with it because we spoke with owner 20 minutes before we headed out totally not acceptable this was our favorite restaurant thumbs down very very disappointed very poor businesslike

Don't get discouraged by the look of the building- the food is delicious! We found this place by accident while being in the area. Due to pandemic, most of the restaurants were closed or didn't have dine in option. We had a party of 6 and were happy when the hostess said that they were open. The building and interior definitely needed some upgrade. The waitress was polite and friendly. We got bread while we were choosing food. We ordered some appetizers and different entrees. After tasting two appetizers, I knew that we made a good choice by coming here. We got stuffed peppers and portobello mushrooms. Gosh! They both were sooo good! I couldn't stop enjoying the sauce from portobello mushrooms. Next, we got 3 dishes with pasta: fettuccini, linguini and ravioli. Honestly, we liked all of them. However, the winner of the dishes was sea food over linguini with Alfredo sauce... that was delicious! Highly suggesting to try!! Spinach ravioli were good but I tried better. In general, it was a great experience and dinner. I would suggest to anyone who appreciates family owned restaurants that serves fresh, homemade food! Ps. Be aware- the size of portions were huge! But we ate all lol

The mussels pomodoro are to die for! Love the pasta aglia e olio! Hot pepper appetizer is one of the best! Thanks chef!

As others here have stated...not much to look at from the outside and the interior is dated, but don't let that fool you! This is old-school Italian fare done right! The waitress / hostess sat me right away and I ordered a glass of their house Chianti. I settled in with the menu, trying to decide what to order. I'm a huge Parmesan fan, so when i saw they had a mix-n-match combo option I knew that was going to be the ticket! I ordered a side salad to go along with my meal and off we went. The side salad with (house) Italian dressing was large and filled with fresh greens, grape tomatoes, cucumber slices and croutons. Honestly, you could almost make a meal out of this dish alone! While I dug into the bowl, my waitress brought over a small, complimentary 5-piece loaf of warm, crusty bread. The loaf came in handy later on, as it was used to sop up some of their fantastic marinara sauce. The veal and chicken parmesan combination plate was more food than one human can consume. Each meat patty was pounded out thin, lightly breaded and fried then smothered with provolone cheese and a thick, hearty red sauce with equal doses of sweet and tangy. The dish also came with a heaping bowl of spaghetti topped with the same rich marinara sauce. I could see other table around the restaurant all had to-go boxes and it quickly became apparent why. The meal was more than satisfying and made for a great leftovers meal the next night...two for one!!! I'm so glad I made the effort to stop by this somewhat nondescript spot and experience a restaurant that has stood the test of time. Well done to the team at Violante's!

First and last time at this restaurant. Food was overpriced and below average in taste, presentation and cleanliness. Server was upset with us because we sat ourselves after waiting about 5 minutes of not seeing anyone.Told us there was a sign that stated we should have waited to be seated Should have left at that point. Pizza was some of the worst I ever had, salad was romaine that was quickly cut and unwashed. "House Italian" dressing is clearly commercial, bread is a par-bake white bread type. Meatball was inedible, strongly flavored with oregano along with the most acidic sauce I have ever tasted. As if the visit wasn't bad enough, a visit to the ladies room sealed the deal. Horrific is an understatement. An absolute filth hole, I would not repeat what I saw. When I returned to my table, I had to tell the server my astonishment regarding the restroom. She apologized, but it was clear she was very familiar with my disgust. I decided to leave my boxed uneaten pieces of pizza on the table after I saw the filthy restroom. She asked if I would like to take my pizza home, I told her I was uninterested because I could only imagine how the kitchen must look if the restroom was in such disorder. Shame on the owner. It takes a lot for me to write a review, but I feel this is a necessary intervention.

Italian at it's best! We have been going for several years. Everything is made fresh and homemade. Salads are delicious especially their Italian dressing. A bit expensive but worth it.

Was wavering between 3 and 4. A solid 3.5. Old school Italian - really great eggplant Parmesan and chicken Parmesan - I don't eat veal but my husband loves it here. I'm a fan of NY style pizza so the pizza here didn't wow me- crust was tasty but was not my style - puffier and sweeter than I like. Last time we went the marinara was a little less tangy than I remember it but still good. Don't go here for the decor - if you're craving old fashioned southern Italian this is a reliable place on the east side.

When you first pull into the small parking lot you may think that it won't be worth stepping inside...you would be mistaken! This is a small family restaurant that doesn't need the bells and whistles of a franchise food chain because the food speaks for itself. The food was delicious and the portions generous . I will definitely be returning again soon.
