Chardon Buckeye Chocolate Café

My family has frequented buckeye for years to get breakfast and lunch, but the quality seems to be going down. They are very cheap on the avocado for avocado toast which is $10 and when we asked for extra crispy bacon they gave us pretty much raw bacon (picture attached). Very disappointing when trying to support a local business

Love Buckeye! Definitely a popular spot on the weekends. Plan for wait time in the drive thru.

Buckeye is my go to for coffee any time I'm in the Chardon area. The food is delicious the drinks are amazing and the staff is so friendly.

This is a perfect cafe to come to when meeting up with friends. They have a lot of nice options on their menu. I had the chicken salad on a bed of lettuce and it was excellent.

Good coffee house and home made chocolates

Chocolates were good, a little too salty and a little too sweet than should be, but it’s a common problem in the US. Coffee was not bad but neither was great. Again, common for the land.

We have just had lunch so we were not hungry and were only looking for coffee, so that we did not check the food, however what we saw looked good, so we’ll probably come back to check it.

Prices are very affordable. The food is mediocre and the coffee is ok but nothing special or exceptional. Portion sizes are decent though. Desserts sold at the counter are nicely displayed and I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve gotten from there. Service is where this place falters. Alicia (not sure if spelled correctly) is the girl that served us that day and she was incredibly rude and cold. She repeatedly rolled her eyes and let out exasperated sighs anytime any one of us inquired about anything or even simply asked her opinion about something on the menu. Even after we thanked her for waiting on us she turned her back and walked away without a word. I understand having a bad day and not being in the mood to deal with people. Sometimes it’s personal issues or sometimes it’s exhaustion from working with the public, especially after you get an exceptionally nasty and disrespectful customer. Sometimes being civil is all someone can muster that day. And that would have been fine. But this was actively being disrespectful towards customers that were being kind, courteous and appreciative towards her. The other employees had always been polite every time I had been there before this. This was the first (and last) time I have ever interacted with Alicia. I have never gone back to Buckeye since this has occurred and neither has anyone I was with that day. There are many fantastic small unique shops and restaurants to give my business that serve better food and employ people with maturity and professionalism.

They throw away several boxes of chocolate due to moths (the bug) nesting both inside the store room for the chocolate as well as inside the chocolates themselves. And the owner says it's normal. While I was there, they were pulling the chocolates out of the chocolate case to throw them away because of the moth webbing.

Also I worked for them and they didn't pay me. I worked more than ten hours. I quit after two days because of the moths because that's disgusting. And while I was there I saw no effort being put in to keep the moths out.
They just tried to secretly throw the chocolate away.

Good food but terrible service. They take so long. Placed an order for 12:05 and sat in the drive threw until 12:25

Authentic baristas here! One of the best local places to get a coffee, bagel with plenty of space to get some work done.

Espresso drinks are consistently good, sandwiches are pretty decent, chocolates are good, baked items are hit or miss.
