Haven't been here for years, and last time was a great experience and great food. Tonight, not so much; thought I would take my wife out for her 45th birthday to a nice restaurant, and it turned out very disappointing, not sure if they have new ownership or what, but the inside smelled like a funeral home and looked like it too, so we sat outside for dinner and the sunset. Our first table and chairs were covered in ants, we moved tables, and it took the server 15 minutes to take our drink menu, and 15 minutes after we ordered to bring us water. The calamari was clearly previously frozen and reheated; was chewy like rubber bands and had an overly strong fish smell. After waiting for another 15 minutes for our 2nd round of drinks, here comes my Cesar salad; was a complete joke, it was literally a stalk of lettuce with salad dressing; I started feeling like the chef must have lied on their resume at this point. Main course, I felt they couldn't mess up the NY Strip Steak right? Wrong! It was cooked fine at Medium, but soo much grizzle, must have either been frozen or just a bad cut of meat. Then just waiting to pay the bill took so long, we just got up and walked our bill to the bar and paid there. Overall, $300+ later; this was a very disappointing experience and will not be coming back or recommending this place until it is under new management. Only positive thing I could say about it was the drinks were good, and the view of the lake and sunset were nice.
Music was a little too loud, need to take it down a couple of notches. Wife's pork chops was very good. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and it came out medium well, no pink. They cooked another and it was medium at best. Asparagus was crunchy and mashed potatoes were just okay. This was our third visit. Will probably give them another chance.
We have been going to the Oaks Lodge every year for over 30 years. The ambiance is always superb and a true delight. However, the quality of the food has fluctuated, ranging from bad to occasionally pretty good. Yesterday, June 18, we had dinner there, and the food was truly a disappointment. The menu was extremely limited. I ordered the tacos ($31), but the chicken was chewy and lacked any Mexican flavor. My sister had the seafood mac and cheese ($42), and the sauce was extremely bland. My friend ordered a plain hamburger, which arrived without a bun. She had to wait a while just to get the missing bun. The food is overpriced, and many of the items don't even list the price. It feels as though you're paying solely for the setting. The waitress seemed distracted and overwhelmed by the computer system used for payment, and many of our items were delivered late.
We absolutely love this restaurant. The lake views are beautiful as well as the option of outdoor dining showcasing the beautiful gardens. The food is outstanding and the staff are so welcoming and provide great service. We had Tomahawk steaks with Alaskan King Crab Legs for our table of 4 people. We had calamari and shrimp appetizers which are always very good. Highly recommend the place! They have a nice bar inside and the drinks are always outstanding.
We enjoyed another delightful evening at Oaks Lakeside last night. Eric created a Lucious desert with cherries and whip cream. A pie that was better than any we’ve had. We enjoy all the people who work at the Oaks and friends we meet. Another wonderful evening. Great view of the sunset !

Food and waitress were excellent. It's been a while since I have been there. Not sure why I waited so long.
This is one of our favorite places. The food, service, and ambiance are always outstanding.
Everything was great, except our waitress. How to ask two or three times for anything we needed and she would disappear constantly.
The Oaks is such a beautiful place to dine. The views are perfect, whether you want the coziness of the inside or the sunsets on the lake. The menu has everything from steak to pasta to seafood. I ordered the pork chop and I can say it's one of the best I've ever tasted. We love The Oaks.
The atmosphere is beautiful for sure. We were able to sit outside and had a lovely view. The food was very good tasting, a little over-priced for what we got. Our service was ok... it seemed like it took a long time for our server to come back and refresh our water, check on us, take our bill, etc. But it was a lovely dinner.

As always, the view and atmosphere of “The Oaks” was amazing. The food always excellent, the waitress must have had too many tables to accommodate. She paid so little attention to our table, that at times I thought she had forgotten about us. We will continue to frequent The Oaks and hope for a different server. I won't let her inefficiency to turn us off from one of our favorite restaurants. Especially for special occasions. We will return soon.
The ambiance of the Oaks is always wonderful. Went for the brunch and felt the food was just mediocre for what we have experienced at other previous dining experiences at The Oaks. Hopefully it was an off day. Will go back for dinner, but for now will pass on the brunch.
Great food and awesome atmosphere!

We went for the Thanksgiving buffet and was very disappointed. The food was just bland. That was the worst tasting slider I've had in my life. The mashed and sweet potatoes were like eating wallpaper paste. They automatically added the tip to the bill, so our waitress got a $120 dollar tip from our table and didn't even spend 3 minutes there the whole time. Our drinks were empty most of the time. Im very disappointed for supposedly being a higher class restaurant.

Super disappointed. We came for our 5 year wedding anniversary and we didn’t get our food for 2 hours. We sat 20 mins before someone even came over to our table, and it wasn’t our waitress who came over. It was someone else who apologized for how long we had waited and said she would find out who our waitress was. We got married at the Oaks. We have always loved it and gone there for special times, like birthdays and anniversaries so I normally would not post this because I know it can be hard to be in the food industry, but our waitress blatantly said she forgot to put in our order (after we waited for 2 hours) and did not apologize or even act apologetic in her response. It was very much a “what are you going to do about it” type of response. She also came over to us only 3 times. The rest of the time random servers were helping us because we had no water, no drinks, no bread.. we had tables come in after us and get their food and leave. I don’t want to blame the actual Oaks, because it truly was the server.. but for the amount of money you pay for food and drinks, I feel like they have a responsibility to make sure their servers are competent and also kind.
I will say the head chef ended up coming out and saying he would take care of our bill.. which I greatly appreciated. However, I still don’t plan to go back because we did have a similar experience back in July 2024 & I didn’t write a review because I chalked it up as a one time experience that happens from time to time.. but after another experience of waiting for over an hour+ for food.. I just can’t justify paying $200 for that experience.
