“Today as we drove to Pomeroy, we stopped for a lunch at the Cool Spot. I used to stop there frequently when I traveled between Parkersburg and Athens. We were not disappointed!! The service was excellent, prompt and curtious. The server was pleasant and seemed to really enjoy her job. She presented the two specials for the day, and our group all decided on the bacon hamburger. It was one of the best burgers we've had. My wife and I had their fries, and the other couple had onion rings. We all agreed they were something special. Our drinks were refilled, and we were sent on our way with large to go drinks, too. This is a small establishment on Rte 7, and I bet they get a lot of their revenue from the gas station side of the business, but the dinner was steady in business and worth the short drive for good, fresh food. The other special was a steak and backed potato. I'm sure it would have been excellent, too, but we didn't want that big of a dinner. Don't drive by... Stop and give it a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.“
