Vinifera Wine-to-Whiskey Bar and Restaurant

Visited on 12/28/24. Food was tasty but one of our food orders were brought to us lukewarm. The drinks were very good.

Upon receiving our check I was surprised with a credit card surcharge. I get the reason for it but there is nothing posted anywhere (website, menu, etc..). When I mentioned this to the waiter he said he thought it was posted on the entry door - Nope. I guess I should've known since the drinks menu did not contain prices.

I prefer to know prices and surcharges up front. Until then, I'll dine and drink elsewhere.

Appetizer was good. Potatos were tough. The old fashioned was unfortunate terrible. It was all spice and no bourbon. I had higher hopes. There selection of bourbon was massive. At least now I know what to avoid next time we go.

Good food selection. The crab cakes are the best we have had locally. Good bourbon selection and the Craft your own Manhattan was a nice addition the cocktail menu. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and guided great selections

Vinifera is a neighborhood bar with just enough on the menu to also be considered a restaurant. They are equally adept at wine and whiskey these days, and their selection of both is excellent. The bartenders here are the clincher — they actually know how to mix drinks. The great staff clearly gets along well with management.

Oh sorry, it was spring 2021, I purposely dressed down, went in by myself, and was avoided like the plague by the owner and staff. I work casual clothes, sweat pants etc, with a “ford” truck hat lol.

I over heard the bartender say to the owner “I think he’s here to socialize” the owner gave this older couple all the time in the world, whenever I tried to speak to him, he was incredibly short and un engaging. I think I saw the business in the paper and I live in the neighborhood at keyser park so I decided to give him business.

I regretted it because of how they treated me. I still over tipped to prove a point, not sure if it was noticed, I actually regretted that as well.

Stopped in last night for dessert and tried the Creme Brûlée and Chocolate Bomb. Both were amazing! The Creme Brûlée was just as good as Cafe 30a in Santa Rosa Beach, FL and let me tell you that is extremely difficult to match up to their desserts. We will definitely be back to try drinks and their dinner menu.

I would like to put a disclaimer that I am not a whiskey drinker, but my husband is. With that being said, we went here for a date night and it was amazing. We sat at the bar and ordered some of the crostinis (yuuuummm). I told the bartender that I was a gin fan...which they only had 1 type of gin there. I asked for a french 75 and it was perfection. I asked the bartender to make me something that wasn't too sweet with the gin and she came up with the "secret garden" but used a violet liqueur? I don't know what it was....but it was sooooo good. She really knew what she was doing. Loved this place. We will be back for more date nights.

Fantastic experience. The food was tasty, the drinks even better. I had the chance to meet John the owner and share some libations. One of the best bourbon selections in the state. He was more than generous and takes pride in his restaurant. Thank you for the good food, great drinks and even better conversation!
