I had a quick overnight trip to Dayton and decided to stop here for lunch. It was delicious! The servers were all very nice and the owner was very friendly and personable. They have awesome hand drawn portraits for sale hanging all over the walls, make sure to bring cash to buy those. I only finished half of my sandwich due to being so full. Stop here and eat!

Definitely a hole in the wall... Which I will take a hole in the wall diner any day of the week! Only negative is it's not real easy to get to and there's not a lot of parking in the Oregon District. Service was polite and efficient... I had the biscuits and gravy in the hashbrowns and wow! I consider myself somewhat of a biscuits and gravy connoisseur and have even written blogs regarding biscuits and gravy and this was definitely quite a treat! Huge serving of two very large fluffy biscuits and some of the chunkiest sausage gravy I have ever had... Not the runny stuff that you might see at other places... And it had exactly the right amount of spice/kick to it to bring a little heat! Some of the best biscuits and gravy I have had anywhere... Would recommend!

We went in to grab breakfast before hitting the road and had found this reasonably priced place in the Oregon district and decided to give it a try. I ordered the chive and sour cream eggs over hashbrowns and my friend ordered the biscuits and gravy. The person waiting on us was colorful (literally in a technicolor dream tracksuit) and very friendly. They dealt with my ridiculous request for two waters and a sweet tea (which, being a southern girl, was *just* sweet enough to pass the test but also very obviously Midwestern sweet), and didn't bat an eye when I gulped one down immediately (dehydration, yo). It took awhile for our food to show up, and, unfortunately, not all of it did. Mine did, but my friends didn't...because apparently it wasn't available? We weren't notified of this until they brought my food, leaving my friend with nothing to do but watch me eat. My friend chose something else and we waited another ten minutes for that to come up, by which time I had already finished my meal and was slurping on my second water. Another waiter came over and asked if we wanted to still get the original order, which showed a lack of communication with the staff, but wasn't a huge deal. We said no and moved on. My friends food finally came and I, instead, watched him eat and we got ready to leave. Nicely enough, our entire meal was comp'd, which wasn't necessary, but understandable. It was kind of strange communication-wise between wait staff. The gap between us ordering and being told our orders weren't happening was just kind of, strange? But they made amends and the food, though it be a little less exciting than I'd hoped, tasted a lot better. Five stars for an overall pleasant experience that could've been a lot worse.

Came in at 6pm, ordered chicken and waffles and my boyfriend ordered the house burger and steak fries. Both were absolutely fantastic, the chicken and waffles is probably the best I’ve had. The Belgian waffle was crisp and soft on the inside, the chicken was fried in pancake batter which was a nice twist on a classic. The establishment was very clean and the staff was friendly with great service. The waiter recommended next time to try the biscuits and gravy. Will definitely be back soon!

My friends and I came out here for a girls weekend and just came across this place. The owner is an absolute joy, he kept coming up and chatting with us and the service was amazing! They brought us out peanut butter cookies, and when someone in our party had a nut allergy he went and made her a different dessert so she wasn't left out. The staff were all hilarious, and we absolutely will be coming back here just to come back to this place. Truly a gem.

This restaurant deserves applause!! I flew in from out of town and visited this cafe as my first Dayton experience. Such a warm owner and terrific staff. I'm a foodie, too!!! It did not disappoint as I ordered breakfast sandwiches and biscuit and gravy!!! Huge accolades to this cafe! They deserve recognition and of course continuous flow of customers!!! I spent a week in Dayton seeking a similar experience. 416 diner was always the best choice. Don't go anywhere else!!!

This was our first time. We were looking to find a local business. The food was really good. Had the chicken fingers and chips. The jalapeño mayo and the garden mayo was the bomb. The folks there made you feel like you were a regular customer. If you want an ice tea they have quite a few choice flavors. Don't sleep on the little gem.

Bacon stuffed French toast n potato twists. ? I'm really digging the vibe here, and the food is awesome. They definitely make you feel at home while sharing personal stories of their background. Great music selections, too! Told them I will definitely be back with more friends. ?

I wasn’t expecting this to be so good! The food blew me away. I ate the Juicy Lucy and it tasted like your grandfathers grilling on 4th of July. Very nostalgic. The gravy was the best I’ve ever had. Everything tasted fresh and home made. The staff treated us like old friends and the vibe of the restaurant is super cool! There’s window seats where you can people watch which is fun!

We walked in starving on a cold January day. The diner was packed, but we were seated quickly. We ordered both breakfast and lunch, and everything was delicious. The service was wonderful as well.

I stumbled on this place one night after work, I fell in love instantly with the hunter hoagie with no mayo, potato twists with ranch. During the warm season the patio seating is gorgeous, adorned with live plants and flowers . The staff will always check on you to make sure your doing alright, take no offense to the pet names such as honey or sweetie, they mean nothing by It and makes everyone feel welcome, the owner is often walking about and is quick to say hello, the inside is decorated with local artists artwork that is also available for sale. There isn't a bad thing on the menu... if you're reading this you could be enjoying the food already, hesitate no longer this place truly is a gem of Dayton

I came for chicken and waffles before a Dead show in Cincy - and now it’s a MUST to eat here every time I’m home. The food is mind-blowingly good, and that would be enough, but it’s only the beginning here. The owner, staff, chefs, heck - the regulars and first timers alike - are all super friendly! Always excellent tunes playing, too. Such a welcoming vibe, such good people, and I swear this is some of the best food in Dayton. Don’t miss it!

Oh boy was this ever so good!!! I ordered the grilled chicken and Swiss sandwich with a herb mayonnaise….it is in my top five sandwiches ever!!! And the curly fries….they are like a seasoned steak fry only better!!! My son had the cheese steak hoagie for which he loved. My brother had the Juicy Lucy (great name) which is a big burger with Gouda cheese stuffed in it! Can you say YUMMM!!! Service was great and vibe with art was fun!!!
