Good experience. Food is delicious and the service has been wonderful. Nice options and the chips are homemade and very yummy. The decor and vibe are such a wonderful slice of history.

An absolute hidden gem at Carillon Park!
We brought my parents here for a Christmas visit, and even though it was our first time, it’s definitely becoming a new tradition. The atmosphere is incredible—my dad absolutely loved the nostalgia of eating inside the 1903 railcar.
You can tell this is a family-owned spot. Danny, our server, was fantastic, and his dad (the chef) is clearly talented. The food presentation was beautiful, almost like something out of a Food Network competition.
What we ordered:
Breakfast Burrito: It was the special of the day. My mom practically licked her plate clean!
French Toast: Comes with delicious house-made fruit preserves. Fluffy and perfect.
Veggie Burger: Also house-made and very flavorful.
Club Sandwich: Huge portion and looked amazing.
Prices are very reasonable (around $14-$17), and you definitely get quality for your money.

One suggestion: I really wish they offered a plant based ice cream option! The Nectar Cream Soda looked delicious, but I couldn't try it this time.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for great local food and a unique atmosphere!

Last night we went to Carillon Park for the lights and dinner. We ate at Culp's Cafe for the first time-what a treat! We sat in the train and we were greeted by Danny who set the tone for a great meal and experience. The food was delicious- the roast beef was made by Danny's father and was SPECTACULAR!! We are excited for our next visit to try other things on the menu. This is family run and you feel like family when you are there.

We enjoyed a delicious brunch this morning at Culp’s Cafe. Both the food and atmosphere were excellent! Jose Calzada and his family have elevated the dining experience there since they took over management. My friends and I enjoyed Chicken and Waffles, Shrimp and Grits, and Brioche French Toast. Highly recommend 🤩

If you like made-from-scratch, delicious meals served in an historical setting by first-class staff, this is your place! First, the setting -- we loved the cafe's clean, bright look of an old time cafe and were happily surprised to see you can eat in two real train cars inside the restaurant if you desire. Second, the waiter - Danny was an absolute professional! So friendly and knowledgeable and first-class! Thank you, Danny! Third, the food -- my chicken strips were handcut and house-breaded (delicious). Others in our party had the house-made veggie burger and the house-smoked salmon. We all loved our food and hope to return someday! Thanks for a great lunch!

We stopped by for lunch on a day they were extremely busy and short staffed. I asked, in a polite way if they thought we would be able to eat and get our check within a certain amount of time. They assured me this would be possible. It was obvious the wait staff were incredibly busy but they remained pleasant and checked in on us through our time there. Not only did they meet their promise that we would be finished and paid by a certain time - the food was outstanding. Great job to all!

I ordered Loaded Shrimp and Grits bowl, this is a new menu item. Cafe is attached to the Beautiful Carillon Historical Park Home of the Wight Flyer III Family oriented and the option to dine in or carry out

Went here for Mother’s Day. Sat out on the patio. It was beautiful. There was music by frank which was really nice. The problem we had was having to wait over an hour after ordering for our food. We kept being told that the kitchen was behind which is understandable but everyone around us including people who came after us had their food within a timely manner. Our server AJ was nice until I asked about the pickle spear that was supposed to come with my veggie burger and was told it doesn’t come with my meal. So I asked to see a menu and she said,”Why? do you want to order dessert? And I said I’m not sure yet I’d like to see the menu and she got a little verbally aggressive. Any ways my meal did come with a pickle spear according to the menu. Also we were asked if we wanted a shake while waiting as we thought it was a courtesy but was charged for it . And when we asked about it we were told no it was not a courtesy and that everyone was waiting an hour which was NOT true. I will not be returning here.
Also. My card was charged the full bill plus over 20% tip added prior to me signing anything. I spoke with the manager Carol Calzada, who was very friendly and resolved all of the issues we had. I really appreciate her!

Just went this morning and had the shrimp and grits special. It was delicious!! Husband and kid loved their meals as well.
It was a chilly where we sat (in the rail car).
