Service is TERRIBLE. Waited for everything, but what sent it over the edge, was having to track down our server, asking for the check, and being told to ask the BUS BOY! Every other location is better, go there, not here. Also turned the music all the way up to try and force people out 20 minutes before closing (we still don’t have our check).

Waited 45mins for a table. Got a table, waited abt 20 mins to order drinks. Drinks arrived. Got ignored by every waiter afterwards. We had to go to the front and asked for menus. We continued to ask anyone who walked by us for service for approximately 1 hr. No one came up to our table. We had to go up to the bar and order drinks because we had been waiting for so long. After we had been waiting abt an hour to order, a waiter came and took our menus (unexpectedly) and gave them to another table?? We were never able to order food. We had money to spend and they acted like the did not want it. 1/10 restaurant. 3/10 bar. AND THERE WAS A BUG IN OUR MARG TOWER

The margaritas were great. The service was terrible. We waited an hour to order as we watched other people receive their food. We received queso with no chips and could not ask for chips until the end of our meal when we were ready to leave.

The food was not good for being fresh. And the service was horrible our waitress should get fired. And she had a major attitude problem and she was taking forever because she was FaceTiming. I don’t recommend this nasty ass place.

Although I found plastic in my food last time I accepted managements apology, and I went back again for lunch today. This time I was given a completely different order. I returned the incorrect food and ask for a refund. First I was told I would have to wait for a Manager to return at 5pm (15 mins). I told them I should'nt have to wait! Next they said the refund could not be returned to the original form of payment, which was tap pay through my apple wallet. They said I had to have a physical card. Although I did not pay with the physical card. I advised a cash refund would be acceptable. I never have this issue with plastic in my food or incorrect Orders from the miamisburg location, the centerville location or the middletown location. First time, shame on you.Second time, shame on me.I will never return to this location again! The service is horrible, management is horrible, kitchen staff is even worst.

Very Disappointing!

El Rancho on Brown Street has been a consistent choice for our group, a middle-aged, professional crowd, over the years. With its inviting ambiance and convenient location, it has hosted our quarterly gatherings at least eight times. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was, by far, the most Disappointing.

I arrived around 5:40 PM, well before the 6 PM Happy Hour cut-off. Surprisingly, there was no one at the hostess stand to greet me, leaving me to find my group on my own. This lack of a welcome set a poor tone for the evening. After joining my co-workers, who had already ordered their drinks, I waited to place mine as we looked around for servers who were nowhere in sight. Despite the urgency, the server did not arrive until 6:03 PM, missing the Happy Hour cut-off.

I placed my drink order immediately. Upon his return with my drink, I confirmed the Happy Hour pricing, only to be informed that it was no longer available, as the cut-off had passed. I explained that I had been present well before 6 PM and that the delay was due to his late arrival. The server, however, maintained that the discount could not be honored. Disappointed by the situation, I asked to speak with the manager to address the discrepancy.

When the manager arrived, I spoke to Ulises the manager. My group and I reiterated that I was present before the cut-off and even suggested reviewing the camera footage to verify my timely arrival and lapse in order taking time. Despite our efforts, the manager remained firm, yet dismissive, citing that the order was placed in the system after the 6 PM cut-off. I decided to send the drink back, as I was unwilling to pay full price for an offer I qualified for but was denied due to service delays. It was apparent that the restaurant chose to pour the drink out rather than provide proper customer service to guests, which raises concerns about the principles of fairness.

To add to the dissatisfaction, our food order was Not taken until 6:22 PM! further highlighting the slow service. At our departure, I asked for the manager’s name, which prompted him to approach our table and attempt to “make things right.” Unfortunately, this effort came too late. It felt like the focus was more on avoiding a negative review than addressing the core issue of Timely and Fair service.

This experience wasn’t just about the missed Happy Hour discount; it was about fair treatment and customer service principles, which are lacking. While El Rancho’s ambiance remains appealing, inconsistent service, Long wait times and dismissive attitudes toward customers cannot be overlooked.

Will we return? Maybe, but with lowered expectations. El Rancho needs to do better. Patrons shouldn’t have to chase down staff to receive basic service. We enjoy the atmosphere and decent food, but this experience serves as a reminder that even a beloved spot can fall short of meeting basic customer service standards when it matters most.

I used to come here every week but the last two times, I have gotten the same server and she is very rude. We asked for tequila sodas and she was upset because she didn’t understand.
Later, the manager checked on us and we asked for limes (again) he ignored us and never came back.
I usually tip cash and accommodate even a busy server but she slammed the plates on the table and then ignored us for the rest of our meal.
If you hate your job, then quit. I know, I work service too.

This place was very rude to my sister in law, so she is an African women and she was picking up a door dash order, she asked employees and the MANAGER for help on the order everyone ignored her but everyone spoke Spanish to her when they clearly spoke English to her at the end when she was leaving. That was clearly bad service and very poor management. Not to mention that’s racial profiling against a working African female women. Do better!!
