Went recently at the recommendation of family. Absolutely phenomenal food. The handmade pastas I tried had such unique but delicious flavors. The fresh made bread was so delicious it was hard to put down. I would recommend if you're looking for some seriously good food.

Excellent meal in downtown! The food was delicious!
ADDENDUM: I have been coming regularly now for 2 years. We often bring our friends here when they come into town. The food is spectacular, the desserts are amazing, the owner is a very kind lady that takes time to chat with us, and the chef is top notch.
Best meal in Dayton!

Recommended dishes: Cannoli, Housemade Meatballs, Braised Short Rib Scarpinocc, Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese, Ciabatta Bread Loaf
This is genuinely one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to — and that’s including well-known, high-end Italian spots in Columbus. I’ve been to the Cameron Mitchell Italian restaurants, and honestly, this place is better — and also cheaper.
The Scarpinocc de Manzo was absolutely incredible and easily the highlight of the meal. The braised beef and ricotta–filled pasta with bone marrow jus was rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. It’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about after the meal, and I would come back just for that alone.
The tiramisu is outstanding. I loved that it has chocolate chips mixed in — it adds a really nice texture and made it one of the best tiramisus I’ve had.
The rosemary & parmesan focaccia was also amazing. We ordered the full size for the table (pictured), and it was more than enough for four people, making it perfect for sharing.
We also tried the burrata. While it wasn’t my personal favorite, that’s more of a preference thing — I tend to like a more traditional burrata. That said, it was still well executed and thoughtfully composed.
One thing to note: reservations are highly recommended. This isn’t really a walk-in spot, but it’s absolutely worth planning ahead.
Overall, the quality, flavor, and value here are exceptional. Easily one of my favorite Italian restaurants, and I’ll definitely be back.

Wow wow wow wow, great food!
First time and the food was incredible!
The atmosphere is perfect noise level.
The food was better than advertised.
It did get a little loud and smelly towards the end, they started frying something that made a lot of noise as it popped and had a deep oily smell... That's when we left lol
Parking stinks, but it's downtown Dayton do not surprised.

This is a nice cafe style restaurant that has a small menu if very delicious tasting food. Mostly pasta dishes, sandwiches, and soup. All of their food is made fresh and they offer cooking classes if you want to learn how to make pasta or bread.

We had the Rosemary & Parmesan Focaccia, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and Mafalda con Sugo di Broccolini with wine. Everything was phenomenal! We'll definitely be back.

Charming restaurant with personal touches. We had reservations on a Saturday evening. Upon entering, the owner explained that there are not assigned servers to tables but instead, the entire staff serves every table. They pace the various courses, etc so that we don't have every part of the meal at the same time. We ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts via the QR code at the table. The roasted carrot hummus appetizer was amazing - highly recommend. The mushroom risotto was delicious. Our friends eating with us ordered at the counter. All parts of our orders were very timely. The restaurant was full and lively and we were in the room with the open kitchen. Servers checked on us regularly and the owner stopped by several times to check on us, including for a period of time when we wanted to know more about the Sunday cooking classes. She later brought us an entree gratis to see what we thought of it. We will definitely be back. Best of Dayton dining.

We needed a reservation even on a Tuesday and had to go after 8pm, but it was worth the wait! The Lobster Pasta was the best I’ve ever had, simple, but so delicious. The Burrata dish was nicely displayed and a tasty combination. We loved the Lemon Olive Oil Cake and Fig & Orange Cannoli were both perfect and not too sweet. Plus all of the service staff was excellent; professional, friendly, and accomodating. I’d do the exact experience again!

We ordered takeaway for Thanksgiving, and everything was cooked to perfection—the lasagne, brie, and olive cake were outstanding. The flavors were exquisite, and the staff was friendly and very service-oriented. Parking downtown Dayton was easy, and we’ll definitely be back.
My husband and I did the pasta class offered by Grist. Kacie was amazing, she is passionate, talented and down to earth. We loved every moment of the experience and the family style meal was divine! 10 outta 10, highly recommend to anyone who loves food and pasta. And we’re looking forward to seeing what their new restaurant has to offer as well. Grist is a hidden gem in Dayton for sure!

Nice people and atmosphere. My family came on a different day than me and said they got to talk to the owner and they were super friendly and nice. I came on Christmas Eve and there was no wait and we got are food fast and it was amazing. Recommend the tiramisu and coffee for dessert.
