Everything they have is always great, the pasta and sandwiches (spicy meatballs and turkey sandwiches). Everything is fresh. Oh, don't forget the desserts, they are really good too.

We have eaten in the restaurant and did the filled pasta class at Grist, both with large groups of friends. Every single dish was outstanding. Chef Casey was fantastic in the class while sharing her own personal stories as well as great instruction on food prep. Do yourself a favor and make a visit to Grist!

Went to the Filled Pasta making class and can not be happier! The class was fun, hands on and learned a lot of things ! Huge respect for the chefs for how much work goes into preparing the food. Flavors of pasta were spot on with the dinner served after the class! Can’t wait to go back for dinners and more classes! Best part, got to take the pasta home that I made! ?

Simply awesome. My only regret is I didn't have enough room to try 1 of everything. Tiramisu is some of the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot). Would love to see a larger space with table service and a porch but still incredible for what it is. Will be back!

I've only been to Grist twice but it is quickly becoming my favorite place to bring anyone when I want to show off my area. Intimate and classy but at the same time you feel like you are sharing food in your best friend's kitchen while enjoying a great bottle of wine. The staff is as curated as the menu. Every detail to make a dining experience you won't soon forget. I believe I encountered one of the owners, Casey, working alongside her staff last night and she is a gem to say the least. I will definitely be back.

This is by far the best place to eat in Dayton. We come here every Saturday for lunch or dinner, such a treat.Today they outdid themselves with a Yuzu & Saffron Tart. It was delicious! As always, I come for the Porchetta and it never disappoints. Thanks for bringing it back!

We stumbled on this restaurant in our travels and we can honestly say it was one of the best meals we have had! The quality of the ingredients and the flavours were excellent. Grist specialized in breads and pastas. It’s a casual dining place. You order at the counter or on your phone. It is far from a cold in out type of joint! We were and I am sure most will have the pleasure of meeting Casey the owner as she was there behind the counter. Her enthusiasm and passion for her establishment and the food she makes is immediately obvious.We had the focaccia, mushrooms ravioli , pasta with their bolognese sauce and even tried their cannoli and the white chocolate tart with a citrus twist for dessert! Everything was excellent and just the right balance of flavours so that you could taste the pasta as well as the sauce! The desserts were the perfect finish. I can’t believe we had room. We used up all the focaccia to mop up the sauce from our main course. They serve a very health size of focaccia!If you are in Dayton, Ohio you will not be disappointed. You all in Dayton are so lucky to have Casey and family all there serving you! All the success is well deserved! They opened 3 years ago on Valentine’s Day! It was a pleasure and was made to feel like a guest in their home!

I've been to Grist for lunch many times, but never for dinner until recently. I'm a very picky eater and was apprehensive about the items on the menu - worried I wasn't going to like their entrees, but boy was I wrong! I took a shot in the dark and it was delicious! My boyfriend ordered something I wasn't sure I'd like, but I tried his and liked it even more than what I ordered! We also ordered the Rosemary & Parmesan Focaccia, and I had a dream about it that night. Fabulous place, incredible food, wonderful people.
