We can't speak highly enough of our experience with Kohler Catering. We recently used their services for our June 2025 wedding and are so happy that we did. Yvonne was our contact and made sure that we were informed, comfortable, and all around taken care of from the moment we submitted our inquiry to even weeks after our wedding. Our guests raved about not only the delicious food (Cocktail Hour: Mini Crab Cakes, Mini Chicken and Waffles, Bruschetta Crostini, and Potato Bites; Dinner: Carved Prime Rib station with buffet service of Chicken Piccata, Red Chili Salmon, Mac & Cheese, Asparagus, and Mixed Potatoes) but the service! Although we did a buffet style service, the Kohler staff were walking around, ensuring guests were taken care of throughout the dinner service. Our guests were impressed at how kind and service-oriented their entire team was. We feel so lucky to have worked with Yvonne and her staff leading up to our wedding - She truly worked magic to make our day perfect and we can't thank her enough!

We received many compliments on the food, including best food they have had at a wedding. We worked with Yvonne from Kohler on the menu and all the details, she was very knowledgeable, helpful, always available to answer questions, and extremely quick to respond to all our questions. We could not have asked for a better experience with a caterer for such a special day.

Our initial visit and tasting with Nikka from Kohler was positive and I had high hopes of using their services for my daughter’s wedding. However, after an initial email exchange in January of 2025, I didn’t receive any proactive communication from her again. Concerned, I reached out multiple times the beginning of April. She did reply that there was still availability June 28th. However, after asking me about what menu I would like, I never received any other responses. I even tried to look up the owner of Kohler and emailed the only email address I could find. Still nothing. Then, only four days before the wedding, Nikka emailed asking if she was still doing the catering — despite my repeated efforts to confirm and move forward weeks prior.
What’s worse, I later learned that she discussed our private emails with the Lake Lyndsay venue manager — misrepresenting my concerns and framing me as “difficult.” I had simply provided honest feedback about the poor communication and last-minute response. Instead of acknowledging the lapse in service, they chose to deflect and talk behind my back. That is not how professionals behave. I admit that I sent an email to Nikka after my daughters wedding out of frustration with the caterer I was forced to find last minute. I blamed Nikka and Kohler because I am positive they would have done a much better job and I had such heartache over the wedding guests lack of food even though we spent over $50 per person.
I have full documentation of my attempts to communicate, and I was never rude or disrespectful. I’m a kind and patient person — but I also believe in accountability. Feedback is not “being difficult.” It’s how businesses improve. Unfortunately, in this case, my frustration was met with gossip and blame-shifting.
If you’re considering Kohler Catering, proceed with caution. I recommend you document everything and be prepared to follow up repeatedly. You deserve a vendor who is responsive, professional, and respectful — not one who disappears for months and then makes you the scapegoat.
