Exceeded preconceived expectations. I fully expected meadowlark to fall into a "tries too hard" camp. Couldn't be further from the truth. Everything was perfect execution of simple ingredients. The fried green tomatoes with chow-chow appetizer was one of the best fried green tomatoes I ever had. Fried but not greasy. My partners salmon with samosa hash(everything in a samosa but the wrapper) was Delicious. My filet mignon with scallion hollandaise was perfectly medium rare, the hollandaise not at all oily tasting. The cocktails were excellent. The lemon tiramisu was light and and refreshing and the perfect amount of sweet. Our server Vincent was excellent. Attentive, and enthusiastic about the menu and made perfect recommendations including leading me to choose the filet as it was the seasonal offerings vs the strip steak and steering me to an excellent wine for my meal. One of the top dining experiences I've had in Dayton, while walking in 1 hour to close. Impressive.

The food here is all house madeVegetarian options: The Meadow Burger is house made and delish! Also many options for tofu and vegan options!Dietary restrictions: Yummy vegetarian and vegan options! Especially the homemade vegan soup options!Kid-friendliness: Children’s menu, however my daughter hoped for a paper menu with crayons. They did not have these, luckily we brought coloring books and markers for her. We were seated on the back corner, it is certainly kid friendly and they were willing to accommodate picky eaters.

The Lark burger was delicious, but the beets were served cold. The description said slow roasted beets, so I was expecting a warm dish. The drinks were good.

I was meeting a friend, arrived first and was seated on the porch. I told the hostess and the waitress I was meeting a friend . My friend arrived five minutes later; informed the hostess and waitress that she was meeting a friend. I waited for my friend to arrive for 15 more minutes. I finally texted her and she came out to the porch so we could eat. I spoke to the manager after our meal. He said the management expected costumers to text to make their connection. IF THAT WAS THE POLICY, THE WAITRESSES AND HOSTESS SHOULD HAVE INFORMED US WE WE MENTIONED WE WERE MEETING SOMEONE.

Been trying to visit for sometime now. Finally got in. The atmosphere was somewhat blah. Not upscale like I expected. The bartender was phenomenal. His drinks were spot on. By far the best part of our dining. The food was very ok. Not a lot of taste. The red beet appetizer was ok. The beets could have had a bit more vinegar in the prep. The sauce was unique. The steak sandwich was salty and had little taste. The garlic chicken presented well but I couldn't taste garlic at all. Service was good, which helped save the experience. Overall a mediocre rating other than the exceptional bartender guy.

Dinner was great until the end. I was there with 2 friends for 2 hours. We each spent right at $100 and had a great meal. After paying our bills, a person who was not our main server told us, "Excuse me, I don't mean to alarm you, but we need you to wrap this up in the next 15 minutes or so because we need this table." There were several empty tables in the restaurant and there was only 1 party waiting. Major service faux pas.

This was the best steak I’ve had in a while and I don’t even remember what the dish was called, nor can I find it on their online menus. But it was a tender and lovely cut, smothered in a cream sauce. As always the service and atmosphere was terrific.

I wasn’t always the biggest fan but I have recently become that. I love their sister store Wheat Penny and felt I needed to give these guys another shot.I’ve mostly been eating lunch here which I think they have some great options. Their garlic parm fries are amazing. Tonight we joined friends for dinner. They had a trout saltimbocca on their special menu and I really enjoyed that. It was flaky and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were also good and nicely seasoned. The mixed vegetables were just ok. A little on the mushy and cold side. It happens. My girlfriend has the ricotta tacos with beans and rice and was very happy with it. We shared a nice bottle of wine. The service is always good here. Luis, the bartender, is great! They have a decent amount of parking. The building is a little rough on the outside. Inside is always nice and clean. I love how they rotate local artist work on the walls and it’s for sale.
