I was immediately impressed by the decor, music and parking. Unfortunately, that was quickly nullified by the rude bartender. When I asked about specialty drinks, she wordlessly pointed to a sign. I ordered a bees knees, it was tasty but weak. When my date ordered a long island iced tea, she was rudely told "we don't make that here." No further explanation or suggestion.I now understand why it was so empty on a Friday night... Which is a shame, because I would have loved to make it my go to downtown bar.Parking: Attached, free parking

Great atmosphere and aesthetic to this bar!! Loved how they had their dart boards set up!! The music was amazing as well. However the bartender was quite rude and snippy. Went here for a date and she was very rude to us!

RED STAR Bar Dayton Nov 2023 - thought I was going to love it - but now this place is dubious and dangerous‼ I ordered an Old Fashioned and as I stood there watching them make it, the bartender touched my glass to the sink and the glass broke. She then strained my drink, put it in another glass for me to drink‼ (thank God I saw what happened)Very nicely I tried to educate her. I'm not gonna drink that because if there's only a tiny sliver it could cut your intestines open. She said Well, I strained it. It was a large chunk of glass not tiny. I said I'm sorry I'm not drinking it. I put an X across my bill. Then went to sit with my friends.The bartender, brought over my drink, and said You Forgot Your Drink‼ I took it to the bathroom and poured it down the drain.Realizing I didn't have my credit card,, my tall male friend went to the bar with me, to make sure I got it back. They set it to the side ... had no intention of dropping it off to me!My friend stood there watching, he said This place is Nasty, they barely rinse their shot glasses - let alone wash them‼Yes they charged me for my drink

I hadn't been to Red Star or any of its iterations but did appreciate the lounge like quality of the bar for a drink or two before heading to The Oregon District. I really enjoyed their cucumber gin and tonic!
