The calimari and the oysters Rockefeller were nicely prepared. Ordered a grouper special, a seafood platter and broiled shrimp. Each of us felt our meals were marginal, at best. A marked decrease in quality since our last visit. Not bad but not good. Better options available.

Crab cakes… delicious. Larry’s Pasta Cajun type flavor with shrimp and sausage… YUM. Calimari- very good. Wackie Jackie cocktail is delicious. Service was great. Fish tanks were entertaining. Love this place!!!

If you love seafood, you will love Sweeny's. I can't say enough about this restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and quiet. When visiting Sweeney's, stop at the bar and have Doug make you a yummy cocktail or try one of the wines, you will not be disappointed.

We arrived at Sweeney's after a funeral showing. The appetizers were served quickly and the food came out well prepared. While above average, I could not rateit as excellent. The service was average.

Service was good. Both of us ended up sick hours after we left. Scallops Italian, oysters Rockefeller, ahi tuna, red snapper. The best part was the bread and butter. Clean plate king and I couldn't even come close. Everything was just bad.... When leaving we were greeted and all parties we pleasant and asked how our food was...we did not respond and the host said "yea good answer" I didnt have the energy to turn around and tell her everything was terrible

Such a great find! My husband and I went to Sweeney's for my birthday because of their seafood selection and were pleasantly surprised with all they had to offer. From the hostess, to the server (Jacob), to the bread, Alaskan Crab, and homemade Creme Brûlée, it was truly a wonderful birthday meal and experience. We will definitely be visiting here again.

Birthday dinner with one of my dearest friends on Saturday, July 9. Started off with Oysters Rockefeller & they were incredible! Dinner was Canadian Walleye from Lake Erie. Wow! Just what I expected being a Clevelander & enjoying walleye my whole life. Highly recommend Sweeney's if seafood is what you are craving!

We had an amazing night on 6/9/2022! Our food was fantastic! We had a table of 6 for a Birthday celebration,! Our waitress was fantastic and had a wonderful personality, she knew the menu, the drinks and great suggestions! By the way my Martini was great! The night was a huge success and we left happy, full and thankful! I would highly recommend!
I have been wanting to try this restaurant , but after reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant. I ended up going with a friend on a Saturday evening and the meal turned out to be delicious and the server Vanessa was awesome, I'm so glad I chose to try this restaurant. Our meal started off with calamari strips, pan seared Ahi Tuna, a cup of clam chowder, a cup of lobster bisque and the complimentary bread. Our main courses were the crab cakes with brown sugar sweet potatoes and the poseidon salad. Every item that we tried was fantastic and we really enjoyed the atmosphere there. We will definitely be returning to try other items in the future.

Delicious food & amazing atmosphere! Always have a great time & never a bad meal! The sea bass is sooo good tonight & the blackened swordfish steak special last night was divine!!! 5 stars every time!!!

We had a great dinner here. Everything was very high quality. The raw choker oysters were especially delicious. The calamari was the best we’ve had as far as we can remember. Most places have too much breading with thin strips of calamari, but Sweeneys cuts the calamari much thicker, which we really enjoyed. Our waiter, Reese was very attentive and did a great job. Highly recommend!

We took my mother here the day before Easter and they were amazing as always. We had Steel Head, Scallops, Oysters Rockefeller, Crab Legs, and desserts. Everything was outstanding and we decided to adopt our server Libby, she's now part of our family ?Dine in: Yes

My wife and I were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and tried Sweeney's. Looking for a good seafood dinner and experience. Turned out to be a horrible dinner for both of us. The service was so so, had to remind the waitress to bring our bread after we had already eaten our salads. My dinner was the Italian scallops with a balsamic reduction with gorgonzola cheese and sauteed spinach. The spinach was drenched with the reduction and the scallops had a gritty taste to them and bad taste. My wife tried them and stated they were probably bad scallops. Her entree was the almond encrusted rainbow trout. It was overcooked, and needed tarter sauce just to be able to swallow it. The rice pilaf that came with it was bland. If you like seafood, avoid this place. Its also way overpriced for what you get.
