I recently dined at Dozo, the new sushi spot within Tender Mercy in Dowwntown Dayton, and it was a phenomenal experience! Tender Mercy’s already sexy ambiance sets the stage for exceptional sushi offerings, and each course was a culinary masterpiece—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I don’t love sushi, and I consumed every bite, leaving nothing behind.
It was perfect.
The service was outstanding, with attentive staff and great recommendations for pairings. I’m so happy we have this exciting addition to our local dining scene in Dayton—I can’t wait to go back!

I cannot even begin to say enough positive things about Tender Mercy and their incredible staff. I rented the space out as a treat for my brother and his wife to celebrate with friends and family after their wedding reception. Julia and Tyler from the TM staff were so considerate about customizations for his and hers drinks, opening the space up for just our party, and being so kind to our guests. Working with them was seamless, and you can tell that they are just all wonderful people. They are experts and complete professionals at what they do. They understood that it was an Indian wedding and crafted drinks and bottle cocktails that used ingredients that catered towards the culture. They go above and beyond from the start when you begin planning an event with them. Myself, my family and friends are grateful for our experience with them. It's a memory we will never forget. Thank you so much to all at Tender Mercy. I recommend them to absolutely everyone and hope nothing but the best for the growth of their business! They deserve it!!

I have visited Tender Mercy in past and had a great experience. I am so disappointed in the way we were treated last night. The manager was abrasive and rude. She claims we were inebriated despite only having one drink. I am very self aware and can acknowledge when I am drunk. This was not the case with myself or party.She unnecessarily threatened us and refused to provide us with an explanation other than we were “too loud and inebriated.” If we were loud, why didn’t she ask us to quiet down vs threatening us with police?We will not be returning and will strongly discourage friends from visiting. It was my sister’s bridal shower and that manager put a serious damper on the evening.

I recently visited Tender Mercy on a Thursday evening and had a fantastic experience. The speakeasy underground bar ambiance was charming, and the cocktails were simply exceptional. The service was attentive and friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking available nearby. Inside, the decor was intriguing and added to the overall ambiance. I highly recommend Tender Mercy for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable night out. On the other hand, my experience at Dozo was nothing short of exceptional. The omakase and sake pair experience was delightful; each sushi dish was not only unique but bursting with flavor. The waitress was attentive and even went out of her way to check out my jacket, adding a nice personal touch to the service. The chefs were not only skilled but also welcoming and informative, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I had a lovely chat with them during dinner, which made the meal feel even more special. I will definitely be returning to Dozo in the future.

Make sure you keep ordering and drinking! Don't waste any time socializing because if you do, the servers will start chasing you out of there because all they care about is turning your table over!

Always a vibe - exceptional service, excellent atmosphere, and unique drinks (if nothing on the menu sounds good, get a bartender’s choice; they always nail it)… go-to place in Dayton for sure!Parking: Do NOT park in the Steam Plant parking lot, they are VERY petty and will get you towed even if the entire lot is vacant ?
