I have always loved the food at Thai 9. I had an experience recently which did not match the wonderful dining experiences that I have had there many times before. The restaurant was obviously understaffed on this Friday lunchtime that my daughter and I ate there. Our server had a very hard time keeping up with our table of two. I honestly do not think that it was her fault. My salad was also not as fresh as I am used to at Thai 9. Our sushi and satay were wonderful, however. I rarely leave a review such as this one. I love our local restaurants and always prefer them to the chains. Maybe I hope to bring some awareness to small problems that were obvious to us, true fans of Thai 9, on this particular lunchtime.

Spice levels were varied and inconsistent. Service was slow. Food was the best part of the experience. We ordered the hot and sour shrimp soup, panang curry w chicken, pad sea ewe w beef, and pineapple fried rice.

I have wanted to try Thai Nine for quite sometime and finally did when some family was in town for the holidays. I would call our meals “underwhelming”. Now, the portions were excellent, the service was fine, but the flavors of all of our food was pretty bland. We all had a different spice levels, and we tried each others meals, the flavor of the foods was nothing, it was just a difference in heat (we had spice levels 2, 3 and 4 between four of us). That was disappointing. We go to places for good food (service, etc. as well, of course). I doubt we will go back. There are other places in the Dayton area of comparable cuisine that are much better!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely incredible! The food was bursting with authentic flavor — perfectly balanced spices, fresh ingredients, and the kind of dishes you keep thinking about long after you leave. The Pad Thai was the best I’ve ever had, and the Green Curry had the perfect kick without overpowering the dish.
The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. Every detail was spot on. If you’re craving real Thai cuisine, this place is a must. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I’ve been a HUGE fan of Thai 9 for YEARS!! Now when my adult children visit from states and countries away it’s obviously out go to. Tonight was so disappointing. Not saying I’ll never go back because who does that. But must be new chefs. Many entrees wrong, dry or over spiced. But we still love you Thai 9 🫶

Food was amazing, the service wasn’t the best. Where we had been seating was extremely low and bright but the food was still very good.

After waiting for 1 hour for our food to be delivered to our table which started with a bowl of Hot and Sour soup, our meals arrived shortly after that. My wife and I both got stir frys and neither was very good. My wife's dish had beef and the beef that was served came as a large clump of meat connected (like a baseball of meat on a plate, gross. My dish was just Thai 9 Sitr Fry and barely any protein. Very unfortunate as we were excited to enjoy a nice evening out and instead spent the whole time waiting for food and service and the food was not great. Sticking with our go to Thai place moving forward. Thai 9 is not worth the time or effort.

Terrible bar service as usual. Not sure why their bar staff is always trash. Rude employees and extremely poor beverage selection. 2 kegs blown making the selection even worse. Dining experience was good, food was good.

Friday Night, November, 6:30 pm.
Used to be one of my favorite restaurants because of its esthetics and beauty. It's rather bare bones now, no plants or lovely decor. The plants absorbed sound so now it echoes. Plants also added warmth so it's chilly inside now.
Not many customers, I remembered it used to have a wait time. I suppose this would be a plus now but I missed the experience of people.
I ordered green curry with chicken, spice 3. The amount given is more generous than the past, seasoned perfectly.
Our Server aimed to please but was definitely serving several tables at once. Our drinks refilled once.
Lots of hustle and bustle from service.
Sit in the main room if you can because the back rooms echo badly and not good for conversation.

Sushi was okay, chicken pad thai was appropriately spicy but noodles were quite dry and almost smokey in a not pleasant way. Service was very nice and atmosphere was pleasant.

Normally I would highly recommend, this has always been our “go to “ for great Thai food. Tonight however was not a good experience. Ordered kaniesu only to be told they didn’t have the ingredients to make it. What? Whom ever was cooking tonight must of had a bad day. The pad Thai was the worst I’ve ever had here, hard to describe the flavor but it was definitely off. Just not the same as I’m used to getting. Vegetable fried rice was bad as well, tasted burnt and was definitely off. We will give this place one more try, and if it is like tonight we will not return. Very disappointing!

It was just okay. Came out to celebrate a birthday and it took almost an hour from the time we put our order in to the food to get there. Our server was doing her best but she had a ton of tables. First time I've been underwhelmed here.
