I absolutely loved the vibe and aesthetic of this bar!! I am a martini girl and have been struggling to find good quality martinis in this area. Their French 75 was amazing as well.
Much better after the mass exodus of the previous staff. Unless you were a regular or knew everything about bourbon you were not treated equally. Something happened and the entire staff quit, not sure what but the staff now is friendly and its more like the Century of the 90s. That's just my opinion . I will say the man that ran the bar and did tasting was very knowledgeable and nice. It was the rest of the staff that had an attitude.
To take Century Bar from the top class whiskey bar, that didn't cut corners, that has genuinely put in thought to their menu, used fresh ingredients, and the swanky atmosphere... to this? Absolute travesty and it's a slap in the face to everyone that has owned or valued this bar for what it was. A part of Dayton history.
The favorite old fashioned is made with syrup now and no longer sugar cubes. The favored whiskey sour? no longer made with egg whites and knock off...
