This is a must see! It took me about 2 hours to get through the entire museum both upper & lower levels, this was taking appropriate time on certain arts I was quite fond of & lesser time on others. They have elevators if needed on each floor & a wonderful gift shop near the entry/exit area. They do have security and do go through your bags, as well as a coat closet to hang your winter coat up at. I loved that! I did not purchase tickets in advance, and I went on a Wednesday midday, however I did call beforehand to ensure they were open. I believe the sign said that they were closed on Monday & Tuesday’s. They had clean restrooms on each level. You are allowed to take pictures, although they do not allow flash photography, or videos. You can also become a member, and round up your ticket purchase to donate to the museum which I love supporting the arts! I utilized the over 50 discount & paid just $10 to get in & parking was free & close by. This was so worth it, and I’d like to go back when I have a bit more time to fully appreciate what I may have missed. You really must check it out! Enjoy the pictures I’ve added below just know they don’t do them justice compared to seeing them live and in person, or up close and personal plus that way you can find out who the artist is, and other important details that I did not mention. Did I say how clean & impeccable the place looked? It was spotless! Gotta love that!

Enjoyed the exhibit. Senior adult pricing is nice. Was told by security that my "back pack style purse" couldn't be brought in. It is a sling bag and small; what did he suppose was in it? He did give me a coin to use the locker. I thought it was overkill and rather silly. Later, I was told to, "refrain from pointing" at an exhibit. I was two or three feet away and wasn't touching anything. Training issue? Ridiculous. I know not to touch anything. Who trains these people?

I attended a wedding at the Art Institute and found it to be a lovely and intimate venue. The galleries were open to the guests before and after the wedding and I truly enjoyed my visit. I would definitely visit again during regular hours so that I would have more time to appreciate their collection.

I like how easy this museum is to get to, lots of free, easy parking. The building is so beautiful, the art collection is so nice, it is easy to move through the building. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a small snack area in the gift shop...just some drinks, tea, coffee, etc and some small snack bites. It's a nice way to spend a day.

Always a pleasure to visit. Did not attend during Covid restrictions though we are members. We love this place.

A nice stroll thru the rooms of art makes a rainy day feel beautiful. The gals at the admission desk handed us a map and highlighted the works of art to take notice of.We had to open our purses for the security to look in and we then we started our walk. The do have a coat room and lockers for you to use. They give you a key if you want a locker. The gift shop is a great way to end your trip thru the museum. You can purchase something to drink and a light snack box from Dorothy Lane Market. There is an area with tables and chairs to enjoy your food.

Went to a wedding at DAI and it was absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony was held at the room where they have the balcony overlooking the city of Dayton, and I could honestly say it was the most glamorous ceremony i had been to.The art work…meh. I am a very crude person and i can see the artists put in a lot of work into those paintings, but if someone were to give me one of those paintings for free, i wouldn’t know what to do with it. I aint trying to be offensive, i am just not into it. And can someone please tell me why did people back in Roman empires all eat half naked? And why did everyone have six pack abs? Gladiator workouts? After that wedding reception, my abs were anything but six pack.

A marvelous little art museum in a beautiful building in Dayton. It has a beautiful cloister in the middle and, as an added bonus, you can host your wedding there too!

What a great layout for a museum. It's location makes for some nice photos. I had a bit of difficulty reading the art notes but that's probably my bad eyes. I would go back.
