4 hours for dinner for 3! No bartender and asked a host if someone could get us drinks while we were waiting to be sat, and we were told they had no bartender. Its just funny that when we got sat, I asked about ording drinks with our dinner, and they said the manager would make them. The host should maybe ask the manager to assist the guests who are waiting at the bar for beverages. This was a double birthday dinner, and let's just say this was no celebration. It took so long for everything. I noticed some other reviews, and it seemed to show how fun this place could have been giving the proper service but not for us. The server even had another table with a birthday and gave them a candle on a plate. Guess our birthday did not matter. Huge disappointment. The concept is cool, but do your homework on ordering the menu with all the specials going on as your server might not know the specific details... Spent over $300 on dinner for 3, which took 4 hours to finish.
I like coming here. I feel it's good value for the price and there is a little something for everyone. Have went for my moms birthday and fro Mother's day and both experiences were really good from the food to the cocktails
I only gave it a 3 overall because when we arrived, the bar had not been cleaned and we had to ask for the bartender to clean it. We also asked to speak to the manager, and they never approached us. There were dirty tables in the bar area. It made us question the cleanliness of the kitchen.
Amazing experience for a date night. You take your time aren't rushed and cook food for each other. I recommend the grill option but that's me. The service was top notch. I will definitely be coming back
Everything was perfect. My special request was accommodated exactly as requested. Absolutely no regrets planning an anniversary dinner with The Melting Pot Dayton!!!
Two and a half hours was way too long to be there. It took forever to get our next course. The food was nothing special. Many of the desserts were just store bought basic desserts. For the price, I will not be back.
I called Melting Pot to make a reservation for my mom’s birthday. They had a special 2 for $50 for their 50th anniversary on Mondays and Tuesdays. It was cheese, salad, and chocolate for that price with a petite entree for $12 as an option. I called to make the reservation because that offer was on their website but would not pop up when I went to make a reservation. I mentioned the deal when I made the reservation. The woman added the deal and said, oh great we will see you then. They called me the Sunday before to confirm my reservation which I did confirm. Nothing mentioned about the deal not being valid this week because of another offer. So not when I made the reservation. Not during confirmation. No no, they waited until 2 hrs and 20 minutes before my reservation to let me know. Offered me a deal that was $5 more per person with no cheese and said I would pay full price for cheese which would be another $50 with my party of 4 so we are at $70 more than what was expected. I don’t know about anyone else but that was a little out of my budget. To out 2 hours before and not offer me any discount at all to compensate, I just felt like was a bad customer experience. Online I now see in fine print the offer was not good on restaurant week. Not sure if that was there previously, but really surprised no one told me that as I was speaking to staff over the phone.
The Melting Pot is the Melting Pot. They are great at what they do, the provide consistent quality of food. Where things differ is with the staff. It is 100% the staff that makes the Melting Pot Special, or in this case, Meh. We celebrate things at the Melting Pot. They tend to make you feel special and focus on the customer experience. This is NOT something that you get at most places. Last night was exactly as I mentioned, meh and all of that was because of the server that we had. Zach lacked personality, he lacked attention, he didn't do anything to prepare for the occasion we were celebrating and was in a rush to get the bill paid. Like dropping off the check at the same time as the dessert and then checking twice (while we were still eating said dessert), was not the rushed experience we were hoping for. Read the room Zach. We've also been to the one to the south (Cincinnati) many, many times. Always, we get a plate with Happy Birthday, or Happy Anniversary (you know the little things). The only little thing Zach was paying any attention to was the watch on his wrist. The Melting Pot didn't disappoint, but Zach did. He can't be too upset, I still left him a decent tip, what he missed out on though ... well, normally, I tip the check when at the Melting Pot. 22% will just have to do Zach. That and this review of your "service".
Wonderful experience. Hailey was attentive and we had a great time.
