Used to be a hometown favorite of ours… service slow and expensive my goodness $7.50 to make it a meal come on.. that’s insane.
Best root beer anywhere. It's a fast food restaurant, only your served in your car. Food is OK for this type of venue.
I've looked forward to trying this place out for a long time. I must say, the service was outstanding. My waitress was very personable. I ordered the reuben meal. It was very flavorful, the bread was great, etc. But, the meat was almost nonexistent. It was basically a sauerkraut sandwich. Lol. I think they're more known for their hot dogs, so I'll stick with one of those next time. I'll update when I try them again.

Usually have a pleasant experience when coming here, not so much today. Came in on 10/29 at around 1:20pm. Waited about 10 minutes for someone to take my order. Which is fine because they are usually short staffed so I understand. A blonde girl with her hair up and sun glasses on came out only thing she says is “you know we don’t take credit or debit right) to which I reply yes then she says “well do you need menus” Very rude and unpleasant.Decided to take my business somewhere else.

Been a long time customer of The Root Beer Stande, and will go as long as they are there! My parents took us as kids, and I'm hoping to take my kids there too. ❤️

In the past, this place was AWESOME! Today, it was horrible. I ordered a foot long chill cheese, onions, and ketchup hotdog.
The hot dog was cold, the chill was cold asf, the bread was wet.... it was horrible!
The jalapeno poppers were really good.... I was surprised that they were even cooked.
If.... IF I come back here and it's any better, I might update this post...

I expected a buyer like the one advertised. It's was unrecognizable. The fish sandwich has changed. It's was over breaded, mushy. We've been coming to the Root Beer Stande/ A & W for 56 years. It was a real disappointment.
Over priced soggy food

Best little shack around to enjoy rootbeer over ice and enjoyable people delivering your meal. Chili dogs, fries, rootbeer floats, the whole menu is worthy of a taste. Also the best rootbeer around.

Nice, fat hamburger. Lots of tastiness. Crisp french fries. Orange shake brings back pleasant memories. Nostalgic to get served in your car. Overall very nice. Plenty of hamburger and hot dog options.

I’m 74 and have visited the root beer stand since I was a teenager. I have to say that recently (since Covid hit) their coneys are absolutely horrible. I can do much better at home myself. The sauce is no longer the good tasting sauce it used to be. Now it’s tasteless and so full of moisture, it soaks the bun. My hotdog actually fell through the bun and the dog was “barely” warm. Also, my husband and I didn’t realize until we got home to throw away the trash that we paid too much. The server told us it was 17.91 which I knew their prices were high, but didn’t think to look at the receipt at that time. The sales slip actually stated $13.91. Boy did she get a good tip! Our bad for not checking there and besides that, WHY is a bag of French fries more than a coney. Duh! It’s just a potato. $3.49 for the small coneys and $3.89 for French fries; also, $2.39 for a small drink you can’t even get a refill on. Service is extremely slow. I truly believe that they need to shorten their menu so they have the time to properly prepare a decent food to serve to someone. This will positively be our last visit there. It you want the old-time experience, hey, go for it, but don’t expect good food, fast service, or economical prices. Cash only!!!
I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I just went for the first time in probably about 10 years. The food was so good and the waitress we had tonight was the sweetest girl.

So I really wanted to give higher stars ? but I'm being honest with you all! Mom decided where to go for lunch today with my Aunt Sharon. She said, "...let's go to the hotdog ? stand!" Turns out my grandpa took her there once when she was a little girl. ?That was 70 years ago! ? The place was packed with people, and I only saw 2 servers. We waited about 15-20 minutes before our order was taken, then another 10-15 minutes waiting for our food! My food was not hot, and mom showed me her hotdog. It looked like it was the size of a sausage link!? My food was good... we were hungry after cleaning all day! The fries ? were ok and plenty... but the root beer ? was the best out of the experience by far!
