Food is delicious and the staff are friendly and personable!

Amazing food!! Everything I’ve had here is next level, not some short order stuff thrown on a griddle. Keep up the good work ladies!! Great, friendly service too. Some places the servers act like you are bothering them. Not here . Just wonderful!

Do not let looks deceive you, the food is fire. Sorry there is no sign, learn to talk to people if you're afraid to go inside.

The first thing to know if that the photos are a lie. Apparently there used to be a downtown location and it looked like that, it does not look like that now. When you find "the sugar guild" today, and it's no easy task, you'll be certain you're in the wrong place. Instead of a kitschy coffee shop feel designed to pull in nostalgic millenials, you'll discover a windowless, cinderblock building in the middle of a residential neighborhood. There will be no sign that you've found the right place--litteraly there's no sign.On entering you'll find a dive bar decked out in red Christmas lights with three or four TVs tuned to whatever comes on at 9am in dive bars. At the bar you'll find the place's only employee, a middle aged woman who is server, bar tender, and chef. The entire experience feels like an up and coming breakfast food truck that got lost one night after a real rager of a party, crashed into the back of a drive bar, woke up hungover the next morning, mixed up a bloody Mary, looked around and said "Yeah, fine, this'll work," and stayed. All that being said, the Southwest Omelet I had was very good. My breakfast companion felt her omlete was under-seasoned, but otherwise good. We both thought the breakfast potatoes were unique and enjoyable. In its original location, this was probably a nice place to start the day, in its current incarnation though it's a dive bar filled with locals who are there to drink at 9am and may grab an omlete or potatoes on the side. While I thought the food was excellent it didn't make up for the atmosphere or the slow service due to the hard-working, but over taxed owner/operator.If you're looking for a highly unique experience, this place will certainly deliver, but it's unlikely to become a regular haunt if you don't live next door.

First you're going to the red carpet tavern. As we were walking in someone was walking away asking where the sugar guild was. If there's a sign I didn't see it. The food was good but it could have used some more seasoning. The service was on the slow side but they were rather busy so that's reasonable. Overall I'd say good but not great.

Looking at photos online are VERY misleading. I was expecting a beautiful farmhouse style restaurant and was VERY disappointed to find a dimly lit bar/Sugar Guild combo. The seats were uncomfortable and service was slow, but food was decent. This was definitely a one time visit only. They need to update their photos because this was not the same atmosphere that the photos show to the public.

Fantastic! I knew their baked items were good, but the breakfast food was amazing! Food-gasmic good! The steak was perfectly cooked, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The bacon was nice and sweet, and the biscuits and gravy were the good kind of home-y. The olive oil cake!!!!!!! Get it!!! So yummy!!!! And the cinnamon rolls!!! We were lucky and got everything fresh out of the oven, so good!! New go to breakfast place!I gave a 4 star for the atmosphere just because it was in a bar and kind of dark, but honestly, I didn't mind bc the food was that good.

This food is great. I will respond to the negative responses, though. I don’t understand how people complain about service, when your there for the food not the service. Great dessert, breakfast etc. Also, servers are not mind readers. If you have a problem with something, be an adult and tell them. For the individuals that love great food, come see The Sugar Guild! If your looking for good service, go to Bob Evans.

At first we were confused, because on the outside it was a bar (Red Carpet Tavern) with no dedicated parking and no signage indicating it was the Sugar Guild. Inside it’s also a bar, but the service and the food were exceptional. I would definitely recommend going.

I'm so happy I found The Sugar Guild for our monthly brunch group. Everyone was pleased with their food and the service was great. We met the chef who was excited to great us and tell us about some of her dishes. Very reasonably priced. For the first time ever our group is returning to the same eatery next month!

I wish I could give a review, but thanks to TOTAL LACK OF SIGNAGE letting you know this place even exists I was unable to find it until too close to closing time; I drove from Cinci and was cutting it close as it was. I really want to eat here, but if they won’t even put up a sign declaring their existence so you don’t need Google maps to even find it, then hell with it. If you want to eat here, don’t expect to see anything resembling a restaurant. It will appear more like a beverage outlet with plain brick walls covered in hillbilly Ohio billboard type posts; I’m Dayton Ohio born and bred so I can say that. Drive real slow and don’t blink. You’ll probably find it. If you can’t or are annoyed by the absence of presentation, go to Tanks. Great place just a couple miles down.Cmon guys. I know your only open a grand total of 12 whopping hours a week, but please start presenting yourselves according to your excellent culinary reputation.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while and we’re unfortunately disappointed by the food. We ordered the sugar guild breakfast and when it came to the table, everything was covered in a thick layer of grease. The potatoes looked like they were just thrown into a fryer, the bacon was undercooked and covered in grease, and the eggs were also not very good. The quality was lacking here. Definitely not worth the $17 per person.
