I went the Van Buren Room while visiting Dayton and quickly began to wonder what took me so long to stop in. The lovely space might've been enough to impress me, but it quickly became tertiary to the friendly service and expert cocktails. Cool chill cocktail bar. Interesting and novel selection of drinks on the menu. Had an old fashioned. Was great because it was made as a sipper. I didn’t have the urge to chug it like I usually do. Seemed to have a good crowd of regulars. Servers kept my water full.
Ian is a master of mixology. Please ask for him. This place is warm and inviting. Even the cocktail menu is gorgeous (if your vegan, you won't be amused). Leather embossed and very creative. With a litany of fresh ingredients, lore of the establishment, and the warm kindness of the professional staff, you can't go wrong. *Just don't ask for Chopin vodka*
