The menu is not what is advertised online. The venue is not as nice as advertised. The chicken sandwich was so dry. Our server was nice but clearly too busy to keep up with things.
From what I understand, this place is under new management. However, the menu is a little to expensive for the service and overall dining experience. You have to know your demographics well enough and create a better menu. I really hope things get better soon, so that this would be one of Daytons best kept secret for dining and a good night of fun and entertainment. As a manager myself, you can definitely give a better choice and quality of food. I'm cheering for you guys.
We ate breakfast and dinner here several times and each time the good was excellent. Breakfast was a buffet with eggs, bacon, sausage, sweet rolls and croissants. The fruit was so fresh it tasted like it was picked that morning. And dinner was just as lovely. The shrimp tacos were scrumptious and the Cesar salad with shrimp was equally as good. The service was excellent. The view was lovely. The prices were reasonable.
Terrible food for the price. You can tell that they haven't put any effort into improving their restaurant. We spent $125 for a meal that was easily worth $40 and even then I would have been disappointed. Our servers were nice but that's about the only good thing I can say about that experience.
I arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 p.m. and had to finally call somebody over to take my order at 7:30 p.m. the restaurant was still open for another two and a half hours and yet they were out of food! What I wanted and they have had to turn away people since 8:00.
Our party was very disappointed. We received horrible service from start to end. We waited a long time to 1. Get seated 2. Get greeted by our server and 3. receive our food. The food was criminally overpriced for how bland and dry it was. My steak was chewy and burnt (I was never given a steak knife). The tea was extremely watered down. The buns to the burgers were stale. If you want to receive awful service, overpriced food, but have a nice view through it all this is the place for you!!!! I would not recommend eating here.
Views aren't bad. The food sucked. The server took our order and never checked back on us after that. Virtually everything om the online menu was nonexistent on the maybe 10 item paper menu... supply chain shortages covid was not an excuse for the sever not checking back on the table there were plenty of employees stabding around while there were all of maybe 5 tables and if your menu doesn't have 95% of the online food update the online menu. They weren't out of the food they just don't have it and not getting it or some r specials occasionally.
We were attending a dance competition in the convention center connected to the hotel. We booked a table at the restaurant for 7:45pm. Upon arrival, a guest sitting at the bar turned around and said "Find something else, I am waiting for 2 hours now and they are out of food". We were not sure if he was joking, but a bartender arrived and confirmed that they are out of food except for salmon... So, we left... (We had do find another restaurant in the vicinity that could feed us within a hour, bc we had to get back to the competition, this was very stressful) I have never experienced anything like this before, just unbelievable!
Open Table booked me a reservation for a restaurant that has been closed for two years. Imagine on Easter Sunday showing up only to be told, "Sir we have not been open in two years since COVID" I showed her my open table reservation and she said well that explains why I have been getting all of these calls today. So I learned a lesson, also call the restaurant when using Open Table.
We went to View 162 for Easter dinner with a reservation from Open Table in our possession. When we arrived, we found it was closed, so our evaluations are really just because it was closed. We want to try it again. But it's best to call the restaurant. Don't make a reservation through Open Door. The door may be locked.

Showed up for the reservation which was confirmed by text message and the place was closed.
Slow service. Bland chicken and macaroni. For the price you would expect a more. Chicken wasn't juicy or seasoned. Pasta bland. Wife's burger was juicy and flavorful, but overly salty.
Great view of the city, really good food, clean, well stocked bar, good service, not overpriced.
This place is so in need of some love and attention. Outdated decor, a menu that seems to be lifted from some dine-in movie theatre, and drinks that were made completely wrong. The Costco-style desserts at least had some flavor, if you're into those types of things. The wait staff seemed to be the bartender, running from table to bar, and another young man trying to be a waiter but at the wrong place.View 162 is definitely a "pass", especially at their price point.
Drink menu could use some improvement, including addition of local favorite beers and liquor, but the kitchen is open late, the food was really good, and the downtown panoramic view was nice.
