Was in Defiance last weekend with friends. We were looking for a place to have lunch and I had seen on the Valentine Theater site that Ensign’s was where Maag’s used to be and they had a lot of the same menu. Went there years ago, before 1980, and was pleasantly surprised with the lunch. Had the roast beef, knockers, chips & draft beer. Everything was great and the prices are very reasonable. We all had a good time and my friends were happy that I suggested going here. Keep up the good work!

My first visit to Defiance since COVID and I was delighted to find out Ensign's still open and still holding true to the original Maag's menu. If it ain't broke, don't fix it ?

I like this place. Very laid-back, pub environment. I tried their hot beef sandwich with pepper jack cheese and some of their homemade hot mustard. It was awesome. Prices for both food and drink are very conservative. If you've not been here before, they are worth a try. #OnlyTheGoodStuff
