Good wine, long wait.
The wines at this winery are definitely worth trying, but a visit on a busy day will test your patience. While the staff is friendly, the lengthy wait times suggest that the service might be at the expense of efficiency. If you're not in a hurry and have a whole day to spare, you might still enjoy the good wine, but be prepared for a significant wait.

Order the French onion soup .. took one bite and tasted like candy it was so sweet .. sent it back and they still made me pay for it ..??? Poor customer service !

Terrible, terrible, terrible! If you’re hungry avoid this place! Took forever to order…..helped someone that came in after us! After 1hr still no food! We were there an hr & 15 minutes & still only had water!

It’s sad that a waitress turned a positive experience into a negative one. When we got there, I asked if they had something similar to champagne. She said yes, and would you like a taste? I said yes. I tried several wines, and I ended up buying 2 bottles and we and another couple ate there.

The bill had $3 for wine tasting. I called her over, and I asked why I was charged. She insisted she had told me it was 75 cents a taste. She was really quite hostile about it. I told her I didn’t hear her say that, but I could have missed it

The point I am making is that the $3 should have been removed given the miscommunication and that we had eaten there and bought 2 bottles. There was also a VAT charge, and she said she did not kmow what that was.

I appreciate the owner’s response. While I understand that even tastings must be charged, there should be a sign to that effect at the bar. And why didn’t the waitress say we have to charge you to keep our liquor license? Instead, she wanted to argue with me that she told me that the tastings were 15 cents each. Further, I still contend that I should have been credited the $3, perhaps on a food item.

I have been here countless times since it has opened and never had an issue, but the last 3 times I have been here in the last 2 months have been abysmal. The service has been very slow, and we only usually see the waitress when she takes our order and gives us our check. Never comes to check in or gets us refills. The inside seating is also almost unbearably hot and is very uncomfortable to eat and drink in. I personally don’t enjoy breaking a sweat while waiting for my dinner. They also seem to always be out of something and don’t offer any other substitutions. The first time, they couldn’t make a salad because they didn’t have the nuts for it, and we asked if we could just get it without the nuts and the waitress said no. The second time, they didn’t have caesar dressing for a chicken caesar wrap and we asked if we could have it without it and they said no as well. We went last Saturday (8/2) and it was nothing short of chaotic. The hostess had no idea what was going on. We got there around 5:30 and were told that if we wanted a table, it wouldn’t be until 8:45, which is crazy. But then she said if we didn’t want a waitress, there were select seats outside, but she didn’t know if we could order food to go and sit out there. She also didn’t know how many tables were available outside and basically just told us to wait in the bar line that was out to the door and see what happens. There seems to be no communication between the kitchen/bar/waiters and host. We ended up leaving because we were so unsure about what was going on and we wanted food. I’d definitely avoid this place on a Saturday.

Nice to see a Young Staff that really cares about Customer Satisfaction.
Great burger and salad with quaint indoor or outdoor seating. They even have a small wine tasting counter inside that seems to be a hit. I will return..

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY!

We came in for lunch today and it was shockingly unprofessional. As soon as we walked in the door, we were ignored for a significant amount of time waiting to be seated. As a restaurant employee along with the guest with me, this is unusual and off putting immediately. We ended up just seating ourselves and yet it still took the server 10 minutes to get to us.

I understand that they were busy and only had one server, and as experienced hospitality guests, we let that slide.

Once the waitress finally came to take our drink orders, my mother and I immediately informed the waitress that we have a gluten allergy, as it is so concerning to us due to our diagnosed celiac disease our entire lives.

We asked the waitress what food on the menu is gluten free and that we are highly allergic, and already in a negative tone, she responds with “I don’t know. I’m not going to tell you what to eat or what’s healthy for you.” We all were immediately all shocked at the response and this was very unprofessional from the start. We tried to explain again politely, as current and former servers and one bartender, and ask further. Her response again was unprofessional, she said “ usually people just come in and come up with their own meal and just know what they can eat and figure it out what they need to take off like croutons and cheese. “. The professional and appropriate customer service at this point would be to politely say you can ask the chef or check with the manager and see what they could do.

After her statements, we said “I guess we can’t eat here then. We apologize.”, and her response then was “ Well, I hope you find something better!” And sped away. Not even apologizing or giving a suggestion for us maybe nearby.

Our entire group was speechless, and said “ I guess we will just walk away then.”

The waitress had red hair and we will never come back here again, not only with someone with an allergy, but the entire group was amazed how utterly unprofessional this experience was.

I have loved Broadruns cheese and Swiss Heritage Winery for a long time. I was really excited for my first experience at Hans bc I've heard great things.. The views and patio were beautiful. Granted we started early around 10:15, but the server was busy and not very friendly.. Asked if we knew what we wanted but I explained that I'd never been. Instead of being excited, she grabbed a menu and told us we couldn't get anything hot. Said that was okay we just wanted bites anyway. Got a trail and cheese tray that we found had moldy cheese on it. We finished our wine and made server aware of the issue. She apologized and then eventually gave us a 25% off one item coupon. Just a little disappointing.

Worst dining experience ever! Couldn't tell you how the food was because we waited 50 minutes to get someone to take our order only to be told the kitchen closed but they would open it back up for us. Can you imagine how that food would have been! Will never give this place a dime of my business again. I own a bar/distillery in Middletown ohio and if my employees treated my customers like that, they would be fired!
