First time in.. when I go to a new pizzeria I try their signature pizza. So I had the Black Dog. perfect crust with a crisp yet a softness that is delicious the sauce is beautifully balanced and compliments the cheese. There were multiple variations of pepperoni on the pie that I could really taste the flavor in each, while having that "cup" and crunch. can't wait to return and make my way through the menu and try all the pizza.
Staff was super friendly and on their game. Made a great first impression that makes want to support your local joint.. This is not your "papas" pizza and it don't taste like a "hut: this is real pizza...perfectly done....by pizza people

Lived here for years! Drive by Karric square several times a week. Vaguely remember see sign Black Dog. My son came in from Colorado and wanted pizza. Googled and Black Dog came up. We tried it and it was amazing! I will go there not only for pizza but take out salad. Freshest salad I’ve had from any pizza place plus some!

I made a “central Ohio pizza tour” booklet/passport thing at the beginning of the year, and when I was researching which places to add, Black Dog Pizzeria kept popping up in everyone’s recommendations.
We stopped in on a Saturday, right when they opened, but the door was locked! Sad! But then the clouds parted, angels sang, and the door was opened by none other than the owner himself (I’ll call him Dave, hey Dave!) (yes, I know his name is actually Nick). He was so welcoming and just an all-around awesome dude. Now, don’t go in expecting to sit and eat. We definitely expected that. There’s one table, Tony said we could totally hang out and eat, but I think it’s really just for folks to sit at while waiting for their carry out orders to be ready. That said, there’s a million things to look at on the walls, most of it is art made by customers! Pizza/dog themed art! It’s incredible. And there’s an awesome hand-painted mural that was done by a customer, too. Such a neat way to decorate 🍕🐕🦺
So Dave walked us through the menu, gave us a bit of history about the place as we needlessly deliberated about what to order. See, to give an equal opportunity to each place, we always order a basic pepperoni and cheese. We figure, if you can’t do a classic pep & cheese justice, can you really call yourself a pizza joint?!
Well, no worries for black dog. They can DEFINITELY call themselves a pizza joint. This thing came out of the oven smelling divine, like the Sicilians of Italy met up with the cheeseheads of Wisconsin and made a perfect little aromatic potpourri of pizza goodness.
Cheese pull: 8/10 Crust: 10/10 Toppings: 10/10 Sauce: 9/10 Ambiance: 15/10 Customer service: 19/10 Overall: yes. Go there. Order everything. See the “oh my goddddd this pizza is amazing” picture below!
We liked it so much that we actually went back that same night and got a carry out pie!

First-time customer, the reviews won me over to try them. We don't play about our pizza, we ordered a Columbus style pizza 14inch, there was no price adjustment for half cheese, pizza was overcooked and hard, and the 12 wings mild buffalo were good. Total $31, probably no return.

My wife picked this pizza place for us to try, and the pizza did not disappoint. The New York style is a 16" pizza that comes as six huge slices, which could easily feed six people. The crust was delicious and crispy with zero flop. No char on the crust, which my wife appreciated. Easily an 8.1 on the One Bite Scale. The only critique would be that it was very greasy so make sure you have extra napkins when you eat it.
We also got an order of their cheese sticks, which were a huge letdown. They were overcooked and nearly impossible to bite through and were completely inedible. They were also covered with loads of Parmesan and Oregano, which was very unappetizing. This ended up in the trash without even eating one stick because it was literally impossible.

The pizza is good but they really skimp on the cheese. Both times now our pies were razor thin. Garlic knots are great though.

Ordered delivery. I was out of town staying at the Hyatt. I'm 48 and have been a big fan of locally owned pizza shops since I can remember. This place ranks 9 out of 10 for quality, hometown pizza. Ingredients were amazing. Crust was perfect. Sauce was killer! The Nacho appetizer they have is freaking amazing. I will drive to Dublin just to eat their food again. It's worth every penny. Hats off guys and thank you. Ben

I've tried around 10 or so pizza places in Columbus and more around Ohio and this is the best pizza I've had in a long time. The hand tossed New York style crispy crust with fresh ingredient combinations puts it above the rest in quality and flavor. Highly recommend and I'll definitely be going back here when I'm in the Dublin area. If you like spicy I recommend the Cujo.
