I’m here for work and wandered in to grab a quick dinner, not having looked at reviews, not knowing what to expect. My goodness this food is good! This is not a garden variety food court meal - the mango chicken, Somali rice, and lentils/spinach were perfect. It’s spicy but not too spicy, sweet but not too sweet… I can’t say enough good things about this pleasant surprise.

The upside is the restaurant is halal and you get a decent quantity. What really lacked however was flavor. Paid about 18 dollars for a bowl and a drink and I really do wish it was appropriately rated when it came to the taste but the beef and chicken were both okay. I wouldn’t call them bad but I do wish they were more flavor. The beef was also a bit more overcooked than usual. Cool concept though and if they were to fix that, I would visit again. Also the market is interesting. Very millennial vibe.

First of all, let me say this is my new favorite restaurant, especially my favorite in North Market. My sister and I went to North Market to meet up and give me a chance to spend some time with my niece and nephew. I love trying new food, especially spicy food, and upon seeing the menu I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Chicken Suqaar with chickpeas, lentils, half and half rice, and all the cold veggies. This mixed with the spicy habanero sauce was sincerely one of the best meals I have ever had! INCREDIBLE experience, incredible service and I can't recommend Hoyo's enough!

the mango chicken is so incredible! what a remarkable way to bring authentic spice and flavor to such a modern and fresh space. 10/10 sambusas, drinks, and attitude. you HAVE to order the pineapple ginger lemonade :)
