I tried this place a couple days ago on the recommendation of a neighbor. I decided not to get too fancy for a 1st-time visit & ordered the Pork Lo Mein. A pretty standard dish. Before I get into the crux of my review I want to qualify my statements by saying I don't take any joy in criticizing someone's business. After all, this is someone's livelihood.Having said that, this is an honest and accurate review based on my lunch visit. JOY HOUSE clearly has an entirely different idea about Chinese food than I have ever experienced in the many decades I have been eating it.There were 0 vegetables in the Pork Lo Mein. Not a piece of broccoli, scallion, bok choy, or anything that grows out of the ground. NOTHING. There was 1 tiny sliver of carrot ? & maybe 3 strands of mung bean sprout. The pork did taste delicious & there was a good amount. The overall flavor was pretty good. BUT - it was basically greasy noodles and strips of wok fried pork.I felt overcharged - literally and figuratively - paying ** $9.75 ***for the dish. Lunch service menu listed this dish at $7.20.Dinner service, which began after 3pm, lists it for $9.65. I was there well before 3pm bc I arrived home BEFORE 3pm and this is a 10 minute drive from my house.I left feeling taken advantage of. Most people don't welcome this type of confrontation to start a big to-do over .10 cents. But, it's the intention behind it that bothers me. And from reading some other reviews, it appears this is somewhat of a pattern: overcharging the customer and/or being charged for items they didn't receive, or receiving a less than full portion. That's a deal breaker for me. If the food was 5 stars OUTSTANDING, I could easily overlook $9.75 for a meal, *if it was worth the $9.75*. This meal was like a vending machine item bought at a roadside gas station stop.Since the area I live in is home to about 20 different Asian-style restaurants all within a mile radius, I will have no trouble finding another one to try.

Awful, awful, awful. I am mad that I wasted my money and drove here. The egg roll was old, hard, flavorless. I pulled out a nasty wilted brownish piece of some kind of vegetable from it. I ordered roast pork with vegetables. The slices of pork was minuscule. Might as well have ordered a vegetarian dish. Portion size was tiny. Do NOT recommend at all!

I am willing to give this place another try after seeing all these good reviews. I must've caught them on a bad day. I was up charged for extra spring roll and fried rice and received neither of them. The broccoli and garlic sauce was more sauce than broccoli but tasted good. They do have an extensive vegetarian menu which is why i gave them 3 stars today instead of 2. I'm willing to go back and try again and if service and accuracy of the order improves i'll rate them higher.

We order Joy house once a week for lunch at work. I've had Chinese food from every place in a 10 mile radius and none of them can hold a candle to joy house. The food is so so so so good. It just doesn't compare to anyone else. I highly recommend this place.

Tried this for the first time recently. Had the Singapore Mei Fun and the Chicken Ho Fun. Both dishes were excellent and a good amount of food for the price. Ordered on a Sunday evening for pickup and it was ready in about 15 minutes. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 were the egg rolls. We ordered two which were $2.20 each, but they were the smallest egg rolls I have ever seen. They were good flavor, but about half the size of the egg rolls I usually get at other restaurants. We will definitely order from them again and just skip the egg rolls.

We’ve ordered takeout from here a couple times now and each time we have gotten hot, fresh, good quality food. Most places you question the quality of the chicken, but this place has given us good quality and delicious chicken. The only thing we don’t like are the crab Rangoons. They taste okay, but for how big they are, there is an incredibly small amount of filling in them which is disappointing. Other than that this place is fantastic! Our new go to.

I was very disappointed. Inside was a bit unkept. Food was over cooked or made earlier and sat. One thing I always like about chinesse is the crispy yet tender veggies -not so this time. Veggies were soggy. Rice was soggy. I ended up throwing away most of food. I will NOT return.
