Ok.. so I’m craving some good, smoky, tender ribs and Mac. Called the establishment to ask about menu options before I got there. Upon arrival, the entry is set up like a high school entryway. The entry way lacked character and demands a better look. I get there to get to find out they haven’t had Mac for many hours, and I got my ribs and they were kinda dry/overcooked however; they were very tender. If you want a smoky “smoked meat” flavored ribs… this ain’t it. They tasted like they had sat out all day, or were made a few days prior and reheated. The heating process is giving me oven vibes, not a grill/smoker. $22 for an entire slab is gonna make that restaurant topside soon. That’s below market for ribs. Even with a commercial license, ribs are $12 per slab. I wish you all the best, but I believe I could do better in quality and upkeep of food. Spend a few dollars on getting the interior of the restaurant looking better because you can see it needs painting really bad and more lighting… Or better lighting at least. I wasn’t disappointed, but I was highly upset at the quality of the ribs without Mac. Also looked like they tore the slab in half rather than cutting it. Presentation was mad sloppy. I am a bbq connoisseur. Food blogger. Chef. 2 stars for effort, one extra for friendliness of greeters and food was out prompt. All together i have you a 3. Easily a 2 pc of greeters weren’t helpful.

Brisket was pretty good and so where the Nachos. I will come back and try more but from the food that I had it was pretty good. I'm giving a 4* review because they still weren't quite done remodeling and you could see some places that needed work. That aside food was above average and decently priced. All and all a great atmosphere and I would recommend a try.

The service was very poor, even by today's standards. They seemed short staffed but there weren't a lot of other guests there. We waited a very long time before the server came to the table, several other parties gave up after about 15-20 minutes but we waited. My brisket was pretty good but the sides we got were very mediocre and they only offer one size which is way too big for an individual person. There are much better bbq places in Columbus and I will be skipping this one in the future.

Went there tonight, ordered the KD burger and a side of potato wedges. Burger was customized to my request, potato wedges were extra crispy, and the bartender was friendly and chatty. 10/10 would go back!

I loved it here! I loved the vibe of the whole place and the bartender was very nice and personable. Plenty of tables and booths that I imagine fill up fast for dinner hours. I had the margarita special for $4 and it was pretty good. Plenty of drink options when it comes to bar drinks and the food was really good. We had the ribs, the green beans and the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese were shells and definitely my favorite part. I didn't love the green beans but they weren't bad just spicy, I would just get more mac next time or maybe they just didn't pair well with what else I got. The ribs were good, dry rubbed with some sauce. I like sauce so we got an order of all 3 they offer so I liked having those options. The owner was there and was very nice. I would absolutely recommend and definitely will be back for more! Can't wait to try the brisket and peach tea

Just terrible. Catered for an office luncheon. Over an hour late for the pickup time, the order was wrong, the food was subpar. Processed brisket, deli sliced ham, dry corn pudding, so-so Mac & cheese. Really don't think they have the right to own a bbq, let alone a restaurant. City BBq blows them away and they're a fast food chain! Anyway, the owner called to profusely apologize and made endless promises of making it right. Never did. You've been warned. PM me if you'd like to listen to his pathetic Voicemail of how they dropped the ball or view the thread of lies in the text messages.

I wasn’t super impressed. They were out of pork belly which was what I was hoping to order. I got a chicken, pulled pork, and brisket taco. The brisket was the best of the 3. The pulled pork was overly salty and the chicken was just ok. I also got the green beans and wasn’t a fan at all. I’m not sure what style they were but they had some seasoning that was a bit overwhelming. At $8 a serving the green beans seemed overpriced. This place just opened so I’m going to go back in a few months to give them another try. Hopefully the pork belly is available.

They could use some more decor. But I do know they are adding more stuff and live music will be happening soon. The food was really good, but Im looking forward to when the new menu comes out. They are short on staff but the staff they do have is really nice.

Not a good first experience at all. I went here after a long day at work to get a quick half rack of ribs to go. I was barely greeted, unwelcomed, not friendly service or interaction at all. The ribs were very dry, tough, and completely burnt on the bottom??? How can you send out a completely burnt half-rack of ribs... so disappointed. And it took forever. Come on Kool Daddy's BBQ, pull it together. Wasn't even busy.

This business operates in tandem with tasteful occasion (as mentioned in another review here). Terrible customer service, fraudulent activity, and blatant lies are rampant. If you are thinking about using their business for an event or anything of the like, take this as your sign and find somewhere more reputable.

I’m a big fan of family on businesses and new businesses trying to make it and that’s why driving by saw this BBQ shop and decide to give him the opportunity. So I want to start off by saying at first glance this place looks impressive when you first walk in and the food , when they bring it out at first glance looks impressive.Overall a warm and very nice place. Now with that being said , down to the brass tacks. We ordered the pulled pork which I would not recommend as it is very fatty and you can see one of the pictures in here of a 4” piece of fat/skin. I cannot imagine the cook or chef not seeing that as they’re serving it onto the plate.Sausage was extremely dry and after one bike we are pretty much done. Also got the chicken tacos , my two companions thought they were good I thought they were OK a little bit too much chili spice in them. The baked beans although they look good they’re really pasty and thick like they’ve been sitting around a long time in the pot.Hey just sitting around waiting for our food I noticed whoever they hired to paint this place did not do a good job you can see wires hanging paint missed sadly goes along with her experience today. On our way out, the owner actually stopped us and spoke to my companion as to how our experience was. My friend gave him the results of our poor experience and the owner was very nice, sounded receptive and hopefully he’ll make some changes.

Had the pulled chicken sandwich with spicy BBQ sauce on the side. It was really good. With the bourbon peach iced tea from the bar. I'll definitely be back.

I really wanted to like this place. It's BBQ with happy hour drinks and close to the office. But I haven't found a single redeeming quality. We went at 11:30 for lunch to go, and our orders took 45 minutes. The brisket was dry, with heaps of un-rendered fat ($24/lb). The brisket green beans ($8/side) lacked any brisket altogether.A coworker found a literal 1" screw in his smoked meatball sub after taking a bite.I've been to the great Columbus BBQ staples. Ray Ray's, Legacy, Smoked on High, Pecan Penny's, etc. Kool Daddy's is hands down the worst BBQ in town. This place may be good for catering, but I cannot recommend their brick and mortar restaurant.
