Fancy cups and good location, however the coffee wasn't good. Also the employeees have terrible attitude. Wouldn't ever come back here.

Food looked old and customer service was terrifible. Purchased a cup of coffee and asked for small 3 cups of ice and they said their boss doesn't allow them to give out ice. The place was not clean either. Won't be back.

Felt disrespected!
Iâve purchased from sweetwaters many times before. I visited sweetwaters recently with my boyfriend. We were attending the farmer market and stopped in to relax and enjoy the cool air. We sat down on the couches once we came in. Prior to coming in, we decided that we may get some coffee even though we had already had some from rebol. Our coffee from rebol was not good and so we were thinking about getting another coffee from sweetwaters. We sat for a little bit, talking to eachother and before we could make a purchase the owner comes up and harasses us and ask âwill you be buying anything?â. We tell him âmaybeâ
He comes back 5 minutes later and sits across from us and looks at us and says âso what are we doing?â. At this point we decided to leave.
He was aggressive and unfriendly.
I will not be coming back.
Update: I will be reporting this incident.
Also, I believe instead of the owner it was perhaps the manager on duty during my visit

Racist.
My girlfriend and I were enjoying the Farmerâs Market on a hot Saturday (around 11:30am) when we decided to stop into Sweetwaterâs to sit and enjoy the vibes.
Both of us are persons of color.
Shortly after sitting at one of the lounge chairs, minding our business, a white man in a Sweetwaterâs t-shirt came up to us and started harassing us, saying âAre we buying anything?â Taken aback, feeling profiled in a busy establishment, and kind of confused given the time and day, I said, âMaybe, not really sure yet.â He kept egging us on and told us to leave or buy something, and then he walked away. We sat there for a few more minutes, very perturbed that we were singled out like that. We were just trying to enjoy our time and sit someplace inside because it was nearly 90 degrees outside and we had been through the Market earlier.
5-10 minutes later, the man came back and confronted us again. He sat across from us, legs spread and hands folded in front of him, and leaned in, âSo what are we doing?â Mind you, the coffee shop is still busy and there are people all over the place filtering in and out because of the Market. We tried to remain calm and just deflect his threatening energy by not engaging, but honestly we were just so thrown off. We were finally ready the leave on our own accord a few minutes thereafter.
At the end of it all we walked out of there extremely embarrassed, disheartened, and offended. We clearly were not welcomed there and management clearly does not appreciate diversity nor inclusivity.

Hello Alice,
Yes, I did work for you briefly some time ago, and I must not have tried the matcha during that time. That said, I don't believe prior employment should obligate me to have blind loyalty to a product I genuinely found disappointing.
If I were running a cafĂ©âespecially one charging premium pricesâI would want honest feedback from customers, particularly when it concerns quality. Whoever is telling you that the matcha is high grade from Japan may be misinformed. The color alone is telling; true ceremonial-grade matcha should be a vibrant, bright green, not the dull brownish-green I received. That level of oxidation typically indicates poor quality or mishandling.
My friend tried a sip and immediately spat it out, noting it tasted nothing like real matcha. To be candid, the experience reminded me of the difference between instant coffee and fresh espressoâstartling and hard to ignore.
I didnât bring it back or say anything in the moment because I took it to go, and it clearly wasnât the baristaâs fault. But I do hope that rather than dismissing critical reviews, you reflect on them. Feedbackâpositive or negativeâis valuable when it comes from a place of wanting to see improvement. Thatâs all this was.
I came here hoping for a good matcha, but what I got was one of the worst drinks Iâve ever tasted. The matcha was bitter, grainy, and tasted like it had been sitting in an open container for a year. The color of it was brown green. No depth, no creaminess â just straight-up chalky green water. It was so bad I genuinely questioned whether it was even real matcha or just green food coloring and milk. Not even culinary grade let alone close to ceremonial. For a shop that charges premium prices, this was beyond disappointing. If you're even slightly serious about matcha, do yourself a favor and skip this place.

I absolutely love this place! I have been a constant customer since their opening and have never been let down. The best coffee is by far the dreamy cold brew. It is smooth, creamy and well... dreamy! That being said don't skip out on the matcha, homemade poptarts, or seasonal drink flavors. The atmosphere is great for working or catching up with friends. With access to free wifi, I have completed high school, college courses, and now work from home from here.
What I really want to highlight is the staff! They are incredibly friendly and make an effort to get to know you. I am bad at writing reviews but felt the need to after my experience here yesterday. I had lost my keys and my phone had died leaving me temporarily stranded. The staff offered any help they could without asking and even let me charge my phone in the back which I felt was incredibly kind.
Having to leave for school or work, Sweetwater is always my first stop home and the place I always make sure to visit on my way out!

Got served a really weak iced chai latte. I asked if I could have another pump of chai from the giant jug from behind the counter and was told no. I guess I shouldâve held the tip until after. Disappointing.
Edit: Owner replied and noted the chai is brewed in house. I think thatâs great. I would have appreciated a little more chai. Weak brew? Made wrong? Personal taste? To help gauge, Iâve never felt this way before ordering a similar if not same beverage elsewhere. A service response fail. Maybe better luck next time if I care to stop by again but not worth it unless Iâm literally right there.

My favorite coffee in Columbus, tied with Stav's. Love grabbing a cup and walking bridge park. They used to have heavy cream instead of just half & half, hopefully they still do.

My friend and I come here a lot to do homework, and we love it! The atmosphere is great, the people are great, the drinks are great, it's overall great! I do not write reviews often, and had to write one about this Sweetwaters location because I love it so much. The people are always so nice and willing to help, and I have never had a bad experience with my order. If you are looking to try out a new place, this is the spot! We tried this place when coming to Bridge Park for a school project, and we keep coming back. It's a 20-minute drive and worth it every time. Great coffee and tea! Plus the music is great!
