This is clearly the best authentic Japanese restaurant in central Ohio. Their sushi is great, but their other Japanese dishes are also excellent.
Fanatic sushi and small plate selections. They offer a mix of American and Japanese sushi. Everything from the Agadashi sushi, yakatori, Uni, and the chefs Nigiri special was all fenominal.

I was one of two people in there at first, which was fine I placed my order (got handed the wrong amount of change back) and sat and waiting, the other person in front had left then 5 + groups of people and/or doordashers, and every single one of them had gotten there food and left. Now mind you I had ordered a Californian roll which has 3 ingredients besides the rice and seaweed. I had to walk up and stand back in line to even get acknowledged. And to top everything off every piece of sushi in my order had wasabi (which i didn't order nor was listed as an ingredients on the board). If I could leave a 0 star review I would. If you're new to the area, pick a different sushi place

AUTHENTIC.
Often I find myself in restaurants that are anything but authentic.
I lived in Japan for 12 years and the nostalgia I felt here was delightful. I even got to speak Japanese with the staff and they were extremely polite due to their culture. Probably my favorite spot so far in Columbus Ohio
We went to Yoshi on Friday evening around 7 PM, and there wasn’t a wait, which was a pleasant surprise. Every staff member was professional and knowledgeable about the menu — their service was attentive and made the experience really smooth.
We ordered the pork cutlet curry rice, a bottle of beer, and a sushi roll. The sushi had cheese in it, which gave it a very unique and memorable flavor! We also ordered one of our usual go-to dishes — we get it every time — but this time it tasted a bit salty for my preference.
Overall, a great experience with excellent service and some standout flavors. We’ll definitely be back!
This is hands down some of the best sushi & Japanese cuisine I’ve ever had. On top of this, the staff is so warm, kind, and welcoming!! The restaurant has such a comforting & homey vibe. Truly a Columbus gem.
I had high expectations going into this place and they still exceeded them. This is going to be our go to, please do yourself a favor and give this place a try.
Horrible experience. Service was incredibly slow, waited 2 hours for entrees to come out. After waiting that long, come to find out the waitress did not put in for one of our entrees we ordered. Not only this, but after bringing this to the attention of staff, we were NOT offered any compensation for this massive oversight. The waitress then proceeded to completely ignore us despite nothing but understanding from our table. Finally, 20 minutes after close, we receive our checks from a DIFFERENT waiter. Completely flabbergasted at this experience and will NOT be coming back.

Exceptional food and service. Truly authentic Japanese flavors and preparations in all the dishes we tried. One of the best sushi spots I’ve been to. Standout dishes were the Octopus Salad, Plain Sunomono, Asparagus Goma-Ae, Ebi Shumai, Grilled Yellowtail Collar, Caterpillar Roll and Cherry Blossom Roll.
All of the rolls we tried were perfect!
Alaskan roll, Pipe roll, Spicy salmon, Cherry Blossom were all delicious.
I tired the Orion beer, and have found a new favorite!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
$22 for curry and $10 for extra SAUCE??????
Absolutely not! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am an experienced diner and I found this place to be acceptable. The service was very clumsy and awkward. Drinks were never refilled, the pacing was weird, and we had three different servers throughout the night. The food itself ranged in quality and excellence. I loved the diverse menu and all the cool options they had especially some more traditional ones that you can't find most places. However in terms of actual execution, some of the dishes were under seasoned, some were portioned weirdly, and some are served at the wrong temperature. I would definitely go back but I would be very careful about what I picked next time. Considering the price, I would expect them to spend a little more time on the details and get the basics right. I shouldn't be drinking bland miso soup, or soggy tempura at a place where my bill was over $100.
Service is always friendly and the food is always delicious and fresh. We like coming here for our date nights.
