We had an awesome experience at dinner Saturday evening because waitress Sarah made sure of that! And she was very attentive without being annoying. Then the food was so delicious! I had the house made Porcini Mushroom Ravioli that was not only plentiful but was one of the best foods I’ve eaten in a restaurant in a long time, including downtown Cleveland. Then a delicious berry desert that was like I’ve never had topped a perfect meal! This restaurant has it all …atmosphere, excellent service and a first rate chef Nick in the kitchen!

My wife and I had our first experience here at the black river tavern back in November 2023, it was one of cur Saturday date night destinations while trying to rebuild our marriage. We had a great time, great food and staff. We plan on going back very soon.

The food took forever. We were the only table. It was all cold. They had a limited menu yet their website mentioned nothing about it. The experience was nothing like what the website showed. We'll never return nor recommend to anyone.

Our server was excellent. The food was good, but our appetizer, salad and pizza all came out at once, so we didn't really get to enjoy it all. The menu had a lot of good choices, so we will return.

Will definitely be back. Food was great, watched deer running around on the golf course while we ate. We thought the interior was done well, the heavy wooden tables and stone work took someone awhile to complete. Waitress was polite, attentive and pleasant. Our first time here and enjoyed ourselves and our meals. Salmon was delicious and my wife's chicken wrap was moist and tasty. Price was ok but everything everywhere is expensive these days.

Nice overall, but disappointed that vegetarian option for burger patty substitution is gone. Should not be hard to have some in the freezer?

We were here for 2 1/2 hours. We ordered our meals right away and it took 2 HOURS for anything to arrive. All while the manager kept checking on us yet doing absolutely nothing to rush our food or make this experience pleasant. They weren't that busy and there was plenty of staff. When the food arrived it was dry and cold! Not to mention I had ordered the scallops on a bed of cauliflower purée and was given two scallops cut in half with no purée. They were extremely thin. The server apologized profusely and comps our meal but it was the absolute worst dining experience of our lives. Very disappointed
