Bartender is quite a piece of work. If she doesn’t like you or your music she can be very VINDICTIVE!!! Find another place to go. No wonder there’s only dining room tables occupied. Only 5 of us on the bar, for good reason. Smitties used to be the place to go. Not anymore.

Smitty's Place is inexpensive, and the food was OK, less than average. I would eat there again if someone wanted to go, but I will not return if I am to select the restaurant. There are much better options in Elyria.

Had the absolute worst service I've ever had here on Thursday. Overheard another complain about their service and they were told if they think they can do it better, they are hiring! The food was awful, made sloppy. My boss got a Smitty burger and it had more mayo on the outside than inside. My food was dry and very bland. The service was the worst! Don't think I'll ever go back again.

Just visited here with my boyfriend tonight and we were the only people in the front dining room! The food was great and very great value. Feel like they are getting screwed because of the construction right there. Would have went past it myself if my boyfriend hasn’t been there before and pointed it out.
Very much recommend.
Will be back very soon. :)

Grew up in good ole Elyria but moved away several years ago. Drove all the way back because I missed this joint and ordered the Chicken Melt just as is and goodness it was immaculate. So glad they havent changed a thing and even the prices are still good <3
What a nice surprise. Being new to the area we were looking for a “mom & pop” local restaurant. What a sweet surprise!! This place is welcoming, food came out quick and service was fantastic!!

Called in an order and when I got there it was ready. Sitting next to the hostess area. Waitress walked by several times and finally asked if I needed anything. I told her that I had a carry out and pointed to the bag with my order. She said she didn’t know where the hostess disappeared to, but dhe would be back in a second. When she got back to me she rang up my order wrong and didn’t seem to know how to fix it. When and found the hostess (???) and after swiping the ‘ white cards’ 4 times they finally got it right Got home and discovered and discovered that they had gave me an order of fried pickles, instead of mushrooms. When I called and told her what had happened and suggested she advise the cook the difference between pickles and mushrooms. She then told me to settle down and not to ‘cop an attitude’. I never cursed her or raised my voice as she thinks I did. I was a drill instructor and if I’d raised my voice, she would have known it. Asked to speak to the manager and told this story, to what seemed a complete disinterested female. Oh Boys (Lake Av) is family run and have never been treated so rude.

First and foremost the owners and management need to be praised for how the hike in food prices have not been a hard blow here. My wife and i can eat here with an appetizer for $25ish. That shows a lot of care for us customers. Not to mention the food and service quality have never been better. We absolutely love this place and appreciate it. Thank you.
