Great food and environment.
Great food
They were low staffed so we waited longer than usual. They were out of a key ingredient with no substitute. When we needed a different menu item, we were not offered the menu. Some of the food was over done. The air conditioning blew frigid air on us, then turned off for awhile and cycled back and forth. And the waitress needed a reminder to bring us something we'd asked for and she'd said she'd bring right away. In a word, Perkins was once a go-to restaurant for us. Now it has fallen from grace. It was a depressing dining experience.
This experience reminds me why I haven’t eaten in a Perkins in more than 5 years. Ordered the grilled fish and shrimp seasoned with garlic. Swapped asparagus for green beans. Proteins were not seasoned, although cooked properly. The rice was bland and flavorless and what they served as green beans looked like the cooks scraped the bottom just to get the last serving. Honestly they didn’t even look like green beans. Blech and I probably won’t return for another 5 years, if ever.
Brooklyn was really bubbly and positive yet I wonder how she even put that plate in front of me.
Not what we expected when we walked in, but the food was on point!
Good food. Clean . Easy access from interstate.
Well where to start how about if we start with the food being overcooked crispy in other words and half of it cold. It took probably about 45 minutes to get our food then when they had to bring me food to replace the cold food that took awhile and it was nasty. Even had the same damn waitress 🤦🏽
Never coming back and would not recommend this place.
Pancakes were fluffy. Coffee flowed freely. Good times with family.
The staff and manager were really great!!!! I felt really bad for the poor building!!!! The bathroom had one stall that was also the handicapped stall!!?? The decor felt like it was from the 1950s. I'm terrified of what is behind the inches of plaster they threw on the walls!!! I don't think the heat worked in the bathroom or the other side of the building. This was in December!! I know remodeling costs a ton and they probably don't have it in the budget!!!
The pleasant attitude of the workers really made the dining experience pleasant, but the dim lighting and old interior brought down the morale a bit. I think people who go to Perkins remember dining there for decades!!! I love the pancakes and would hate to lose the 2 Perkins we have in the area!!!
The Perkins on Byers road feels like it is newer but maybe it isn't. It definitely has an updated interior and bathroom!! Byers Road does have more windows, so it feels brighter. I had one awful experience there with a check out person so that weights on my mind!
I usually have the same food so I can't say a lot about it. It's definitely comfort food!!! I go through phases where I order the same thing all the time. The pot roast is to die for, as well as the pancakes, eggs and bacon!!

I genuinely enjoy visiting this establishment. Initially, I had the impression that it was primarily frequented by senior citizens seeking affordable meals. My assumption proved to be accurate. The ambiance of the place is remarkably cozy, and the prices of the food items are quite reasonable.
Upon entering the establishment, I am consistently welcomed with a warm and friendly greeting. The delectable baked goods offered are freshly prepared each morning, ensuring an exceptional culinary experience.
