No issues with staff or atmosphere, however the food fell short. It seems odd that there is a trend of serving Nachos without cheese and having 40% sour cream and lettuce. Id suggest reviewing this as the combination of ingredients essentially makes this a taco bowl.

We did delivery. They forgot my margarita but the Uber Eats driver went back to the restaurant and brought it to me. Food was hot and delicious

A group of former military colleagues and I stopped into El Vaquero after a retirement ceremony on a Tuesday afternoon..
I sampled the Premium Lime Margarita, a pair of Al Pastor street tacos, and the eloté (Mexican corn on the cob)..
The chips were hot and fresh, and the salsa, though not as hot 🔥 as I typically prefer, was very flavorful..
The pastor street tacos were amply portioned with meat, onions, and cilantro, and were served atop two corn tortillas.. The accompanying salsa verde only enhanced their already wonderful flavor..
The eloté was a larger cob than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise, and the blend of crema and Tajin gave it a nice kick..
The Premium Lime Margarita was on point but could have benefitted from a bit more salt on the rim..
The service was outstanding, and learning they offer a military discount if you pay at the front counter was a delightful bonus..
I would definitely dine here again the next time I visit Columbus and am craving Mexican fare..

We did carry out and the food was ready when promised. The food was excellent and still warm when we got it home.

I'm new to Columbus and was shopping nearby. I saw the menu on line and placed an order for the California Burrito and corn ribs. Wow to both! I was in heaven immediately! Great flavor for both of the dishes. Amazing. I can't wait to get hungry again.

El Vaquero is always my go to Mexican restaurant. The food and service is always top notch. Today I only ordered chips and 2 quarts of salsa to bring to a gathering. I’m positive the salsa was intentionally watered down because I only ordered these items. Extremely watered down, no flavor. Basically red water. Very disappointed!

El Vaquero is a descent Mexican restaurant in New Albany, Oh. The enchiladas were good enough, but a little small, and the red chili sauce could have been better. Overall, it got the job done, but there is room for improvement.

We had a great experience at El Vaquero! The food was absolutely incredible. The queso was hands-down the best I’ve ever had—super flavorful and perfectly creamy. I ordered the basil margarita, which was unique and delicious. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, and it’s worth noting they have an impressive vegetarian menu—not just one or two afterthoughts, but several solid options.
Our server was really friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall good vibe. The only downside was that the service took quite a bit longer than expected. It wasn’t a huge deal, but something to keep in mind if you’re in a hurry.
Overall, the experience was really enjoyable, and I’d definitely go back. The food alone is worth the visit!

The corn ribs were so good I didn't want to stop eating! There's some kind of breading that reminds me of fried green tomatoes. I literally need a bucket of these delectable treats!!!

Food was quality as always, I got al pastor tacos guacamole and chips very tasty. I dropped them to 3 star on atmosphere because the floor was very slick when I got there which made me have to concentrate while walking to the table

As a foodie from Chicago, this is the only place in Columbus to get flavorful, authentic Mexican food! I’ve tried many other places since moving, and El Vaquero Gahanna is the best! They have happy hour daily 4p-8p, TONS of drink and mocktail selections, and everything on their menu is incredible. Best birria and pozole I’ve had in Columbus. We usually order 2-4 (alcoholic) drinks, share an appetizer, and 2 full entrees and spend about $80-$90 before tip. We can never finish our meal and always end up having leftovers, so portions are generous. The service is wonderful; after only our second time there, Carlos remembered our drink orders, and that we prefer the hot salsa and chips to the mild. On our third visit, we saw him joking with the kiddos at another table and gave them each a quarter to go to the bubble gum machine. He is truly a gem and we ask for him every time -I recommend that you do too!

I have been coming here for years, not consistently anymore but enough where the server today seems to remember me specifically anytime I’m in there. My boyfriend and I were in there today around 3 and noticed it is taco week ($9.99) for 3 tacos, 3 different meat choices. I got chicken and my boyfriend got birria. We didn’t think the tacos came with sides bc it was not specified so we were fine with that and just planned to get an appetizer as well (which we did). The server said so himself they came with a side (rice or beans) we got one of each and the order was confirmed back to us. The bill came and he charged my boyfriend $15.29 for the birria tacos and $3.00 for a side of rice… he came up with an excuse of the quesabirria were more even though my boyfriend did not say anything about that when he ordered (only asked for what was listed on the taco week list) I’m very upset for being treated that way, he took advantage of the situation. Just isn’t good customer service and not the right thing to do. For that we will not be coming back. I should have fought that price at the time but we had to get to our movie. Luna (male) was the server … I now wish we didn’t even leave him a tip but we still left %18
