I want to preface this review by saying our food was good and our server was excellent, however, the rest of the experience was not so great. My fiancé and I went to the diner for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Upon being greeted and led to a small 2 top table, I requested the larger table right next to the table the hostess wanted to seat us at. She explained that Sundays were busy and those tables were reserved for larger tables. OK - great. Immediately, another woman came over and went into a lengthy explanation about why we could not sit at the larger table. She was not our server and what I later observed, her job that day was to tell most every table in the restaurant about the “new rules” that the new owner has put in place.As our drinks and food got delivered, the small table was not large enough to fit everything. We placed some items on the empty table next to us, to which appeared to be an annoyance to other servers. This empty table was the one I requested to be seated at and it remained empty the entire time we were in the restaurant. Additionally, several 4 top tables were seated with parties of 2 while we were there.Unfortunately, this will likely be our last visit to Galena Diner because of the poor management.

The diner is a small town diner that offers great food at a reasonable price.Some of my favs are the breakfast potatoes ask for grilled onions and for dinner the chicken with green beans are fantastic. My favorite lunch item is the burger and fries. They handmade make the patties which I believe they are so delicious.

Very disappointed with this visit. We ordered pickup. I didn't get what I ordered which was the beer dipped fish entree. Instead I got a fish sandwich which was tasteless. I asked for malt vinager, tartar sauce and ketchup. I got tarter sauce only. No napkins nor cutlery even though we both got cakeI always look forward to coming back to my hometown to visit but this was a disappointment

I always love coming to Galena Diner. The staff is super friendly! It's a very cool diner with a ton of history. I've always been happy with my food.I recommend the breakfast sandwich on sourdough or The breakfast bowl. I always add peppers and onions to it. The breakfast potatoes are my favorite over any other restaurant.Their lemon pancakes and french toast are incredible!!! but I prefer savory breakfasts so I only order them as a special treat :)Parking: Street parking. Not that hard to find a spot. Maybe a short walk. But it's free!Wheelchair accessibility: This is possible but only for half of the restaurant.
