This place has definitely been upgraded from the old owners. Food is taster and service is as fast as they can. It's usually busy for dinner from Friday and the weekends

*UPDATE*
I used to visit Tres Potrillos often, and I used to enjoy my visits, but this restaurant has changed over the years, and not for the better.
My wife and I visited Tres Potrillos a few months ago, and we ordered the same dish. When the food came, they only brought use one dish to share. We asked where the other plate was, and they said we only ordered one plate. For context, I speak some Spanish, but my wife is fluent in Spanish. So, we are able to communicate effectively to the server.
They took the plate back and a half hour later gave us two plate with the same meal, as we ordered. One of the plates was hot with hot food, and the other plate was hot with cold food. I asked why the food was cold, and they told me they saved the first plate and brought it back to us.
I asked for a manager because it is unacceptable to be given a plate of cold food. The manager told us that he could take the food and heat it up in the microwave if that would make us happy.
I told him what would make us happy is to be served two plates with hit food on both, not to have to ask for hot food. I also let him know that we wouldn't return because of how bad the service has been lately. It was just this one event that was a bad experience it has been several events, but this event was the final one to make us find a different restaurant for our Mexican food experiences.

Tres Potrillos has always been our go to for margaritas. We have tried margs all over the US, and Tres’ remain THE BEST! The food has always been ok, but they have redone their menu. My husband has had the carnitas tropical burrito the past 2 times. Last night, I got to try the fresh guac which is made table side; and OMG! It was incredible! For dinner, I had the birria jalisco which was incredible. They have also done something different to their rice. I generally don’t eat the rice at Mexican restaurants because it’s just bland. Not Tres! That rice was the best I’ve ever had! Keep it up Tres!

The food is typically good the service is always hit & miss i feel the servers are always to distracted talking an laughing with each other in the corner than actually attending an paying attention to the guest so you usually have a wait before your cup is refilled or you can order your food.
