Great food and great small town atmosphere! I love meeting friends here on a regular basis. I’ve always had a great experience!

Fernando’s is the perfect place to meet friends for a delicious meal and fantastic margaritas. They are so welcoming and make everyone feel like family.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! Reading some of these reviews reminds me of the good old days when I dealt with difficult customers. Some people are experts at spewing nonsense. Good riddance to the haters; more margaritas and tamales for me please! I got the pleasure of personally meeting Fernando, his wife, and his adorable daughter who just has the cutest little dimples! Not to mention this place is the real deal; the family is as authentic as the food. Order the enchiladas and tamales! I do recomend having a driver if you plan on having more than two margaritas 🥴 Tell them Stephanie sent ya!

Ordered a hot dog that came out the most disgusting color you’ve ever seen burnt on one side, corn dough for the tamales was grainy and the chimichanga was just bland boiled chicken and soupy refried beans, absolutely no flavor. Took over an hour and a half to get this garbage food, the atmosphere was that of a disease infested dive bar.

Incredible food, drinks, and atmosphere. Loved the super burrito but tried many other things and all was great. Very affordable prices compared to all the other places that have skyrocketed with the inflation.

20 minute wait for a menu. A tad overpriced. Nice people.

1st? They have one server working on a Saturday night. No excuse.

2nd? Their chips and salsa (that weren’t complimentary) were something like the quality of expired Tostitos and store bought tomato sauce. No onion, no seasoning, and I was lucky to get a crunch from the chips.

3rd? I’d probably go into detail about the dinner bill here but we decided to cut our losses short and eat elsewhere. It cost $20 for two drinks and chips with the quality of those I could have found in between my sofa cushions.

Grand Rapids is an adorable little town but I’m finding their restaurants have some improvements to make.

Let me start this by saying: We LOVE Fernando’s in Grand Rapids Ohio. Fernando was my janitor in High School and was amazing. It is a MUST stop and eat for us every time we are or pass through Grand Rapids. Tonight’s plan was no different. We talked back and forth what sounded good for dinner. My wife and I made the decision to travel from Swanton to Grand Rapids for dinner. However we took our dogs with us. We know the restaurant does not permit pets. So the plan was to get takeout and eat wonderful Mexican food on the River. I went inside and asked for a menu for take out. I took a picture of the menu and exited to show my wife, who was outside with the puppy’s. I sent her in for a take out order and I took the dogs to get ice cream pup cups at the near by ice cream shop that is also amazing. Only to return to disappointment of a refusal of service. The same witness that provided me a menu refused to take my wife and I’s order. She stated the kitchen is too warm and we are only serving sit down patrons. It was not packed and was not near closing time. As always we didn’t complain we just left hungry and disappointed. Again I highly encourage anyone passing through Grand Rapids to stop here for lunch or dinner. Tough pill to swallow tonight. Until next time Fernando’s. We will be sure to leave the pets at home and dine in.
