Warm, inviting atmosphere and the food never disappoints. Brunch/lunch menu is unique with some familiar or traditional items. There were four of us, two got the shaved prime sandwich and said it was delicious, another friend got the burger - something said it was delicious and I had the Chintz chicken salad reminiscent of Lazarus! We started with the Brussels sprouts that I highly recommend. Service was excellent, one little hiccup, server didn't ask how to divide the checks, no big deal but excellent otherwise.
The Oak Room at the Granville Hotel is a beautiful spot to have dinner. The entire interior of the hotel is elegant— great for a special dinner. Food is very good, but high prices also reflect what you need to pay for the swank setting. Our waitress was very attentive, friendly and efficient. The chocolate cake for dessert was out of this world and one piece was large enough for the 3 of us to share!
Great ambiance and staff was very nice but food took over an hour to come out and was not very good. Manager was great and willing to take some of the cost off the bill which helped to redeem the experience.
Meal was overpriced. Meat was seriously over cooked (medium well vs. medium rare), veggies were tough, bread and potatoes were nothing special (no distinctive flavor), and service was slow and unattentive at times.
Lovely outdoor seating. Server was excellent. Food is just ok. Brussels were good. Half chicken was a bit dry. Potatoes that came with it were dry and inedible.
The Granville Inn is lovely in every way. Over the years, we have chosen to go here for many of our special occasions. This time for our fortieth wedding anniversary! They surprised us with a champagne toast and the night was enchanting, the food excellent, and our waitress lovely. The Granville Inn is always a wonderful experience!
I would not recommend dining here for fast service. Every stage of the dining experience took forever! Also, wait staff not very attentive.
Disappointed. Food was not as well prepared as remembered from previous visits. Quiche dry, omelette over cooked. Service slow.
We visited for our 10th anniversary, which coincided with family weekend at Denison. Despite being absolutely slammed, our service was excellent and the staff made it an anniversary to remember!
Our first time here, and we had a great experience. Super friendly servers, cool atmosphere, and delicious food with generous portions

Truly and outstanding experience. Starting with our server and the complimentary champaign for our anniversary. Unexpected and greatly appreciated! Our server was one of the best I've had. Professional, personable and attentive; she felt like a friend taking care of her friends. The food was incredible; I've never had a filet mignon prepared that way and it will be hard to knock off its pearch as the best I have ever had. To say I highly recommend the Inn is an understatement as I told my friend that it was the place to go for his anniversary. Thank you for and incredible experience.
A gorgeous venue. We sat on the patio and it was lovely. A busy night (homecoming) but we were still taken care of. Food was good and always dependable and generous portions (we had salmon and smoked prime rib sandwich). They even acknowledged our special occasion with a complimentary glasses of sparkling. The Granville inn is a gem and worth the drive.
Food was ok. Brussels undercooked and wagyu beef overcooked. Well done. Service was not great. Had to call out to get service. Ambiance was absolutely beautiful. Wish the rest was up to par.
I ordered a salad, which was very good, once they managed to serve it to me as ordered. I asked that 2 items not be added; it took 2 tries to get it right. I ordered the herb-encrusted chicken breast. It was fine, but it was a pathetic presentation! There was nothing else on the plate, not even so much as a sprig of parsley. I would have ordered a side of some sort had I known that upfront. I didn't have dessert, but I did eat an apple when I returned to my room at the inn across the street.
Had a Bloody Mary cocktail was more of a mix than a drink. Service was very slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Salmon was good but the fish and chips wasn't. Has always been a special place and we were celebrating our 57 wedding anniversary. Will be some time before we will be returning.
