I would highly recommend the Chefs Table at Carmagnola.
For us it was a six course dining experience unlike any we had ever had.
Seated in a private dining area that is positioned right in front of executive chef Jackson Rouse and culinary staff we were provided a detailed description of every course including how the dish was prepared, the inspiration for the dish and where ingredients were sourced. Some local and some from other parts of the world.
It was treat for the senses. It was surprisingly healthy menu with nothing fried, smothered or processed. 100% fresh ingredients including in house made pasta, micro greens snipped fresh from the table top garden in the kitchen and fresh meats and seafood.
Of all the courses, the wood grilled rabbit cacciatore Trenne in vodka sauce with fennel, green olive and leek was the best followed closely by the Sumac Seared Hokkaido Scallop in a confit fennel puree surrounded by green chickpeas and Lemon Argumato and the house made vanilla gelato with cocoa nibs and mugilio (a syrup made from pine cones sourced in the Swiss alps).
My husband and daughter opted to do the wine pairing which they throughly enjoyed. My son and I got separate drinks, he a Limecello and me a Cranberry Mule mocktail. We each had sips of each other’s drinks - all was amazing.
Overall an unbelievable fine dining experience.

We recently experienced a wonderful evening here. Italian cuisine is known for not crowding flavors but allowing fresh ingredients to become vibrant, individual yet harmonize together. Bravo to Chef Jackson Travis Rouse because this is done extraordinarily well here at Carmagnola. We had the roasted chicken with a vibrant lemon sauce that had you begging for more! It had the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity that made the whole meal exciting. The Caesar salad and the beet salad were all of that as well. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with just the right amount of attention. Do yourself a favor and visit this rising star in Hamilton. It is not that far. p.s. An exciting, thoughtful and balance wine list as well!

We had the best time trying out Carmagnola! Every course was amazing and flavorful. We had the meatballs, artichoke, Caesar, carbonara and the steak and fish specials for the mains. Great wine list and cocktails as well. We felt like we were back in Italy with how great/fresh the food was. Great service and cozy atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back!

We loved our night out. Blown away by the atmosphere of the building and what they've done. It started with expertly crafted cocktails and charcuterie at The Grey before we moved to a delicious dinner that included a wonderfully prepared cod special (which one of our bartenders informed us the fish was swimming 3 days ago) and Picanha and pasta dish at Carmangola for dinner.
We plan on making a trip back soon for a few more cocktails and dessert!

You have to try this place, it's incredible. The ambience is elegant without being stuffy, the decor modern and timeless. We intentionally arrived early to enjoy an expertly crafted cocktail at the Gray and our wait staff did not disappoint. I knew what I wanted but my date did not and, through a series of questions, our server was able to suggest a few options. By the end of the evening we had tried all of them and they were amazing. Dinner in the main dinning room was relaxed, well-timed out, and delicious. Bread with caponata starter, beet and caesar salads, lemon pappardelle and Steak Jess' Way mains, no desserts...this time. The One martini is a house special and is something you have got to try. It might not be for everyone, but it's the only cocktail I've ever had that has improved with my dinner.
Any city would be lucky to have this place, but Hamilton is the winner by having Carmagnola raise the bar for coffee, food, and drinks downtown.
And if you want to make it a fun date night, hit up the pinball garage for some added fun.

Well worth our drive from NKY. The food is wonderful, kudos to chef Jackson. Farm to table at its best. Atmosphere is warm and inviting, love the art work. Our server Cory was wonderful. Started with bread service, homemade in house. I had the Steak Jess's Way, wonderful mix of flavors. My husband ordered the smoked chicken, 1st time in 20 years, incredible. Good coffee; can't wait to try dessert when we get home.
