Taqueria Chapin is not the name anymore, they were out of about 1/3 of the things on the menu but the Fresca drinks were very good.
bathrooms are a mess. the menu is very confusing and sadly the tacos are just plain aweful. the one thing that WAS good was the salsa. Also, not sure why i have to squeeze by motorcycles just to use the restroom? Nothing in this restaurant was enjoyable. If you think it’s just a renamed COCO’s, it is not. COCO’s was about 7 times nicer and enjoyable. Sad to see this place downgraded to what it has become.
Ordered take out. They didn't include the esquite that I ordered. The aguas Frescas were watered down. The chicken was boiled and lacked flavor.
The quesa birria had no queso and was not how queso birria is made. On doordash it says it comes with blue corn tortillas...it does not. The tortillas were under cooked and no sides were given.
This is the first time I ever post about food being this bad. The food is not like it is describe at all, they just threw stuff together and called it a day. It had no seasoning, it was just boiled and reheated. I ordered a “quesa birria” which was described online as blue corn tortillas. The consume was water and paprika. No cheese to be found. I also ordered chicken tacos and the chicken was boiled and bland. When the food was picked up the place was empty but they were on their phones and couldn’t wait to get you out so they could continue sitting. I have tried this place twice trying to give them a second chance and both times the service was bad. All the other photos are from cocos not their actual food.
When this restaurant was Coco's, it was great! I loved having a good Mexican restaurant in walking distance from my house! The food was good and so were the margaritas! Tonight was my first time since the name and ownership changed. I was so disappointed. My husband's meal was inedible, I'm not sure what it was that was being passed for ground beef but it looked and tasted like chunky paste. My mom's enchiladas were made with canned chicken! I had ordered the Tacos al pastor only to be told once they were bringing out everyone else's food, that they didn't have any pastor. Ultimately I got the steak tacos and they were at least kind of edible but the steak was chewy and greasy.
The chips and salsa were still good though, however I don't think we'll be returning 😥
I used to be a regular patron of this restaurant for after work hangs with coworkers. Staff was always quick with a refill on chips or beers. Food, while not mindblowing, was tasty.
This new iteration of this restaurant is not good. Service is crawling, took 10 minutes for someone to come get a drink order and another 10 for it to come. Which would be excusable if the restaurant was busy, but there was only 1 other group in the restaurant. The food is sad and passion less, plus the 2 chip limit per table is a bad move. We will never be back. Disappointing, go to El ranch Nuevo instead
Food and service were excellent.
The house fried chicken is so dang good. Fresh, fully cooked not greasy and the fries. Love it all and the people working there amazing

The restaurant has a new owner and is no longer Coco's. Our visit was nothing short of amazing. Not one single item was a miss. Everything was fresh and handmade. The salsa is some of the best you'll have. We also got Asada fries which were amazing on their own. The cheesesteak burrito was good, but i knew it would be after having the steal fries and the meat being so tender. My wife had order the fried chicken special, man that was some crispy and juicy chicken, well seasoned. The verde sauce that comes with it was great. We also got the chicken empamadas and they were amazing too. Definitely my new spot.

If you are in or near Hamilton, OH seeking some authentic, homemade Mexican Cuisine this is a must stop. The place is huge and open space with bar that takes up one whole side. Plenty of seating inside and out. They offer sit down, delivery, and catering. Can accommodate large parties. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. There is something here for everyone but they are famous for the pollo fritos. Huge pieces of fried chicken with a variety of dipping sauces. I know because i tried it and have to say it was one of the juiciest bites i had. The portion sizes are huge and they take pride in every dishes presentation. Highly recommended.
