I am 66. I grew up in Hamilton. I moved to KY back in 1988. Whenever I make it back to Hamilton, I always stop to get me a Richard's steak sandwich. Now very disappointed. Last night 7/26/25, about 9:30 pm I stopped in the main st. location for a famous steak sandwich. Not a single customer there other than me. About 6 punk kids working. I stood and waited to place an order. And I stood there, and I waited. Thought maybe I must have become the invisible man. Funny though, when I flipped the bird and walked out, they all seemed to notice.

Richard's has upped their game! They have corrected some past issues! I took friend who came in from out of town who had never been. I was prepared for disappointment.
The last time I went a few years ago, everything was lukewarm and the bread was not hot. It was raw and it wasn't toasted. It just wasn't good at all... But this time! WOOOW
I don't know if it's new management or if they got enough complaints, or if the new staff has decided to up the game because Hamilton is certainly getting more traffic lately...
But, whatever it is... I got the same steak sandwich again I got a few years ago and this time it was fabulous! The cashier actually asked me some preferences so I could build it better. This hasn't happened before. She told me about the different sauces and described them.
I started by picking the sauce specialty Richards sauce and we went through the toppings. She was more than happy to ask the cook to grill my onions for me. I had other questions about what cheese they use she told me about the cheese. It's good to treat someone like they've never been there before. The goal should be to read a customer and be able to tell when they have questions, describe menu items and upsell whenever possible.
Anyway, the steak was amazing! sausage was so hot I couldn't even eat it right away! The bread was toasted and perfect. The onions were Fab. The entire sandwich was 70 times better than it was last time. Food obviously tastes better when it's cared for and it's hot when served.
I enjoyed it so much that I took two more of them home to my roommates we had all but pretty much given up on our hometown favorite. We've all been born and raised in the area, including our kids! We will start going back again!!
The food was out quick. We wanted to sit next to the main Street windows but they still have that area blocked off. Not sure why... That's really my only complaint. A few tables needed wiped off, but that's no big deal.

Overpriced and not that great. We got a 11” pepperoni pizza and a steak hoagie and spent 26$ We woulda been better off going to little Caesars or Pizza Hut. Hoagie meat didn’t even taste like steak. Will not return to this pizza joint.

Absolutely love this place. It had been a couple of years since I was there and they did not disappoint! Probably the best steak hoagie anywhere! The pizza is wonderful as well. The people are awesome and helpful. The homemade fudge is freaking amazing! I highly recommend this place. There are a couple so if you can’t make it to Hamilton, you can hit the one on RT 4 in Fairfield.

It was ok, all the tables were dirty again and we had too sit on top of each other because they had back closed again. Never seen anybody clean off a table, you had too clean it yourself

Good fun friendly atmosphere. The food was fresh and the servers were kind. Not to mention there were 25 of us and they got everyone seated and served very quickly
They have half the dining room closed which for I don't know why. I tried to get mountain dew and it tasted like sulfur. I told the smaller lady and she gave attitude. The bigger lady took my order and acted like it was a big deal to even do that. The food was great and that's about it for this place. If this place door dashed or offered delivery I would order from here. But all in all I wouldn't wast my money or time going in to eat

Went into Richards on Nilles yesterday Sunday 4/27/25,ordered was told 15 min. So I waited for a few minutes listening to the mng and cook cursing and complaining about there job! So...i left, ran errand came back about 20 min later, still was not made. Waited for another 15 min, nothing.3rd time was told they are finishing it now, so I waited another 10 min or so was handed my sandwiches .... They were cold, I don't even think they were cooked! So once again I went back with food and said I want my money back, manager said "u will have to wait" "I don't know how to refund cash", I said it was $21.50 get in your drawer and give me my money back.i was getting frustrated! Finally got my money back but was the worse experience ever! I called Richards on Main ordered and they were great and apologetic for the awful experience on Nilles! Nilles needs training on so many levels...it was ridiculously absurd!
