pupuseria mari has amazing pupusas and tortas—flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. However, the curtido portions are limited, whereas most restaurants offer it unlimited. A bit more curtido would make the experience even better. Still, the food is good.
We ordered a bean and cheese pupusa, a loroco and cheese pupusa, and 4 quesabirrias. The pupusas really hit the spot. It was our first time having loroco or even hearing of it so we figured why not try it? It’s officially my husband’s favorite pupusa filling. I’m still a bean and cheese girl. The quesabirrias were good but the sauce wasn’t as flavorful as we’re used to from another restaurant so we liked the pupusas better. There was a language barrier but pointing at...
A very simple restaurant. A very authentic Mexican restaurant. Seemed to serve dishes from countries beyond Mexico, perhaps Columbian, but I'm not sure since my Spanish is poor. Waitress only spoke Spanish.
