Daylight Donuts & Cafe Hilliard

First and last time here. I stopped in on my way to work after placing a pickup order online shortly after they opened. When I arrived, it wasn't ready. I thought they may have been busy, but the only person there said, "no one told them an online order came in" (??). My iced coffee was a small instead of large, and was unfortunately the worst coffee I have ever had. It tasted like I took a drink out of the syrup flavoring. The donuts tasted stale and overall disappointing. I always try to support local businesses when I can. Next time I'll stop at the chain grocery's bakery instead & save $30.

This review is for anyone not from this region hoping to get their Daylight Donut fix from an edge of market location. This is not the donut you seek. The yeast glazed donut from this location was only slightly better than a Walmart glazed donut and not a true Daylight Donut style donut. The dough flavor tasted like the brand but the process to create them went wrong somewhere creating a very not-Daylight Donut texture.

This glazed donut almost seemed baked. They had "muffin tops" as if they were cooked in a pan and the dough was extremely dense. The glaze was also off and not shiny nor did it even cover half the donut. It was similar to eating a dinner roll with a little glaze on top.

Was hoping to surprise someone that relocated to this region, but I should have known better. Not worthy of the brand name.

We just had a simple order, two glazed donuts two iced lattes. We had to repeat ourselves over and over. There must have been a language barrier I’m guessing, but we did not feel welcome to be there, even though it was not busy when we came, basically empty. Coffee was meh, barely better than a gas station coffee. Donut is something you could pick up in a gas station as well. Not sure if we just had to high of expectations for our first time here but won’t be returning.

Don't let the name fool you-- Daylight Donuts has some of the best pizza in Columbus! Everything is made from scratch and the crust is perfect. Definitely try the maklouba (crust on top and bottom) and add harissa if you like spicy food. My friends from Algeria all say the pizza here tastes just like home. The staff is amazing-- keep up the great work! :)
