Hillgarten Beer & Wine Garden

First time there and it was wonderful! The weather was perfect as was the food & service. Family & pet friendly. Highly recommended.

Fantastic heated tent for Winter and great outdoor space for Summer!

First, their 5-star reviews are a lie. They do not give you a chance to choose stars. They just give themselves 5 stars if you write a review. That makes them liers and cheats! They are clearly a 1-star place. Closed for no reason, and the phone tells you that they are open. I called that morning to tell them that 12 people would be eating together at 1. A machine answered, and it gave the hours they are open that day. They closed, and did not even bother to change the machine, so we showed up to a totally closed restaurant. I did notice two other negative things. They are too totally cheap to print menus. They tell you that you have to read the menu on your phone. It is not a real beer garden - just a picnic place. The ground is covered by cement, stone, grass - no room for flowers. If you are expecting a beer garden, like in Europe, this is clearly not it.

We love spending an evening at Hillgarten. The German-inspired menu offerings are tasty and the cocktails are fun and refreshing. Love that they offer the heated tent so we can continue to go as the weather gets colder.

We walked to this quaint little beer garden in Hilliard, Ohio. It’s such a cool little place, we did not eat food but the food we saw smelled great. We got several different types of beer and drinks all of which were tasty. Great atmosphere. We sat at the table and played cards, so much fun. This was a great concept. You have to try this place out.

Firstly, their selection of beer and cocktails is always amazing and seasonal. The food is so yummy and fresh every single time. Secondly, Hillgarten is a really special place to me. Not only because of the owners and the staff being so wonderful, but its atmosphere also fostered one of my closest and most treasured friendships. I think that best describes Hillgarten - a place of connection, with great food and drink to add to it all.

Absolutely the best bratwurst I've ever had! I would have eaten it without the curry sauce, even, and the hot German Potato Salad was a delight with strong dill flavor and smashed red potatoes. We did wonder why a place serving German street food wouldn't serve German beers, but the selection is plentiful anyway.

My husband and I took our two young boys here today and we both commented on the AMAZING service. We interacted with three employees and the owner and all four were extremely personable, helpful and friendly. It’s a place we will definitely return to many times for this reason alone, combined with the amazing atmosphere and food/drinks. Such a great place to have in Hilliard!
