Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

I had a really disappointing and honestly gross experience at the Rita’s Ice Cream in Hilliard. I ordered a brownie ice cream. The first worker gave me a brownie ice cream that was completely frozen, another worker just grabbed my brownie with her BARE HANDS.NO GLOVSE.!!!!held it for a moment, and then wiped her fingers on her clothes before continuing to touch my food again—STILL WITHOUT GLOVES. That was extremely unhygienic, disgusting and unacceptable.

I lost my appetite and ended up tossing the whole thing. Really hope management sees this and addresses basic food safety and cleanliness with their staff. I won’t be going back.

ice cream is fine. the worker that was working on the other hand is terrible. her name is ryan and she had some friends there at work with her and when a friend of mine walked in she immediately made a face. the friend of mine walked away to disregard anything from happening any further and ryan (the worker) went up to her friends table and said “oh do i have a story to tell you about her” and had her friends stare at mine the whole time. my friend eventually walked out the shop and went back to the car. the worker and friends got confronted as to someone saying “is there a problem with her being here?” and they all said no and acted as if no words were to be said. i do not believe any worker should disrespect any customer in any way no matter what their past may be. this worker needs to be talked to.

My family and I have been to this location a few times. Each time our orders are worse than the time before. The staff is friendly but very under trained and lacks the basics to prepare the deserts. The last time we were there our ice cream orders were completely wrong and honestly were so bad I doubt we'll be back. The girls serving us seemed very confused on how to prepare things, and the final product was not good.

Server patient with my indecisiveness and provided several samples. I got a custard milkshake, vanilla, with their pumpkin pie filling (seasonal) added.

When I tell you I nearly died from happiness! It was so good. Velvety texture, she didn't put too much or too little of the pumpkin in it, so good! I recommend their custard although I'm excited to go back, as the cantaloupe ice sample I had was amazing and I am excited to have that too!

I would give the young lady 6 stars if I could. She was extremely accommodating by offering to make my favorite flavor: wild black cherry. Additionally, she allowed my wife to sample many different flavors while keeping a smile on her face and maintaining great conversation. It's always a pleasure to visit this Rita's...! Thanks for another superb experience.

Such a fun little place for a yummy treat. Take it from me, get a gelati or something w the Italian ice, instead of just soft serve. I wanted to switch my kids because theirs was way better. lol

Great little spot for soft serve and Italian ice. We got the chocolate and vanilla swirl cones for our first visit, but after getting unlimited tasting spoons of their ices, we decided we would get those next time. The mango is amazing! Bright, clean, friendly and relaxed service. My 6yo son is a tough critic of new places, but he loved this place right away. We will be back!

The girls working were awesome with their help since it was our first visit. Everything was oh so yummy. Will visit again.
