First off, Absolutely amazing experience! The food was fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. I came in today and got a Meatball sub and a Crazy Dave both were fantastic! I’ve been coming to this exact store for over 4 years and I’ve experienced both ownerships and I’d like to say Nick you are wrong. Your argument that the new owner ship is terrible is wrong if anything it has improved. The workers are kind and get your subs ready in under 5 minutes which is amazing. Also Bri Nameth you made a complaint about them toasting your tomato’s. Who complains about tomato’s? they add nothing! and if anything don’t get tomatoes cause they’re yucky! Jason you complained about the look of the place. Still looks the same just a diffrent style it’s not like they painted the walls one solid color. Last but not least, Kevin McCarthy you complained about the bread not being crunchy. My meatball sub bread was very crunchy and the Crazy Dave that I left in my fridge for 6 hours and ate later was also crunchy. Go to subway and let their subs sit for 30 mins and come back to me and tell me if it’s Crunchy! 5/5 food I will be back!

Not at all like it use to be. The subs have completely changed. Sadly won't be back.

Not impressed with the new ownership. Food quality has dramatically went down. I ordered a chicken bacon ranch sub, they toasted it with the lettuce and tomato on it. Very disappointing.

Everything about this place has been ruined by new ownership. Dave’s was bought out by a private quity firm (Sidhu Realty Capital) known for buying beloved businesses and milking them for everything they can before allowing them to go under and leasing out the property to someone new (their real agenda).

In the meantime they’ve sterilized the interior. The signatures and art is all but gone. The hippie atmosphere that was so beloved has disappeared. The bread they use now is cheap and gross. Long favorite sandwiches have been fully removed. The classic Dave’s pickle doesn’t come with the sandwich anymore and it’s not even the same pickle. It’s probably just a simple dill pickle from acme. It’s sad what’s happened to one of the areas favorite local sandwich shops. Thanks for nothing SRC!!

Found a piece of plastic in my sub. When not eating around plastic, it is hard not to notice that the bread is not as crunchy as it used to be. Dave’s is not the same as it was before being bought by private equity. A giant private equity firm will never capture the magic that used to exist in this shop. Sell it back to a local owner or watch the quality and customer base diminish to the point of closure. The decades of cool art and writing have been covered over too. Guess I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

The staff here are wonderful, churning out sandwiches while multiple soccer teams fill the dining room. I’m still getting used to the renovation, I miss the signatures.

Very underwhelming for $20 a large sub, yes $20 for a large sub. I presume the chicken used was from frozen by its texture. Cheese stuck to the wrapping, not the sandwich. Would not go back. It was not packed with the “frozen” chicken either for that cost.

Why did you paint over the walls? Why do you play bad music? It needs to be classic rock. A shame what new owners have done to this OG sub shop — no longer the same Dave’s.

I’ll no longer be supporting Dave’s anymore, after 20+ years (literally telling people it’s my favorite sub — even wearing the shirt!), it’s ruined. It’s just sub par food and a poor experience.

MGMT — I’ve emailed you. There’s two locations ruined. Please reach out and explain to unhappy customers.

The subs are average, no better no worse than other sandwich restaurants.

I’d give the atmosphere zero stars if it was possible. The new ownership change has erased a legacy of great sandwiches and an even better ambience. What used to once be an establishment of whimsy and delectable subs, has become a house of corporate slop. The changes have been so ludicrous I can only wonder if they’re attempting bankruptcy in order to swindle their investors. Deeply saddened

What a shock going in to see the walls stark white. All the rock posters and graffiti gone! Looks like new management that has no clue. Several customers had the same reaction coming in as we sat eating. Also looks like prices have gone up too. We were charged $4.49 for a fountain drink. What’s with that? Too cheap to buy napkins and they handed us cut up paper towels. Dirty tables.

I'm not sure what's happening here. All of the walls have been painted white. Only one employee worked during peak lunch hours, and it took us over thirty minutes to get our subs. This long-time lunch staple seems to be going through some changes.

Was passing through town and stopped for a quick dinner. Loved the vegan chicken parm! The other vegan sandwiches looked great too!
