We went to Kokomo’s and were initially having a fine time—until our food took an hour and a half to arrive. When it finally came, the quality was poor, with one $13 item containing barely any chicken. On the way to the bathroom, we noticed the kitchen was filthy. Angways.. we politely asked to speak with the manager about possible compensation for the long wait and disappointing food, we were immediately met with hostility. She raised her voice, accused us of trying to avoid paying (which was never our intention), and acted in an extremely unprofessional manner—yelling, threatening, and even cornering us at our table. When it came time to pay, she mixed up the checks, charging card payments more and cash payments less, which made us suspect she pocketed the cash. This dragged out the payment process for another 30 minutes, during which she continued yelling at us in front of multiple witnesses.
The only positive part of the experience was our server, who was kind and professional throughout. Unfortunately, the manager’s behavior overshadowed everything. To the owners: this kind of conduct will drive customers away. For the sake of your business, I strongly urge you to address this employee’s actions immediately.

First server was nice but new, food took 1 1/2 hours to come out, food quality was really poor.. food could have been made in my garage for a 10th the price… when we politely asked for a possible compromise on the bill, the immediate reaction was hostility, rudeness, anger, and yelling, the bills were charged incorrectly, and they refused to fix it and try to start a fight with us, even though they were the one who was yelling at us.. we just wanted to pay and leave.. I feel so sorry for our server, it was her 2nd day and she was so confused, what’s Horrible boss to have…

We came here after a long day at Kalahari because it had 4.5 stars. We met the owner while he was about to leave and was very nice to us, as it was our first time being there. After he left, the waitress was being nice as we ordered our food. Then, one of the cooks brought out our food. Unfortunately my mom, dad, and grandma’s salads were hot for some reason and were bland according to them. My friend’s philly cheesesteak was burnt and my chicken quesadilla had a rubbery texture because of the chicken. None of us took more than one bite. The cook came back and my mom gave some polite critiques. She rudely said, “okay” and walked away. When she came back, I asked if I could have a cheese quesadilla instead and she said that should would go get me one. I thought all was good but when we went to go pay, my grandma asked the cook what they were going to do about the food that we didn’t eat since restaurants usually take that off the bill, that is if they’re kind enough… The cook immediately started yelling at my grandma saying that we were trying to steal from them and other things like that. My grandma just ended up paying for all of it, as she kept yelling at everyone saying that we were rude from the moment we walked in, which was not true at all. My friend was on a separate bill and for some reason his card declined so she screamed in front of everyone at the bar saying that it declined, which was extremely unprofessional. My mom said that she was going to pay for him but she still kept repeating that his card declined. She then told our waitress to just call the police, when we were clearly paying for it. There was also a random guy at the bar yelling and swearing at my minor friend because his card declined. Not once did I get the waitress or cook’s names, so I wish I knew who they were. Needless to say, we’re all very upset considering we thought this was going to be a nice place to get our dinner and the owner was so nice. I’m not hating on the owner, but the waitresses were just really rude.

Edit: just saw the guy who said we were lying about what happened. Kinda crazy to say that we lied about not liking the food, as you are just sitting there DRINKING at the bar. No food in sight, I wonder why. Everyone took one bite of their food because it was gross besides me, considering I asked for a cheese quesadilla after and ate it because how can you mess up a cheese quesadilla? We didn’t try to get that taken off of the bill because I actually ate it. Most of us understood that they weren’t going to take the food off of the bill and that wasn’t the problem. The problem was how rude the staff was. As for my friend’s card declining, my family told them that we were going to pay for it instead and the cook screamed that his card declined over and over and then called the police.

I was at Kokomo’s when these people giving false ratings were there. Frankly, they were trying rip the place off. Several of the people ate much of their meals and then tried to send them back. And then one of their party was declined on his card. It was shocking to see grandma teaching her grandkids to rip off a food establishment: she didn’t give up for over 20 minutes of false claims….Pathetic! Kokomo’s is a great place with great food and atmosphere. And the loyal crowd here won’t stand for people trying to steal from the establishment.

****WARNING**** It is a local watering hole, not a restaurant!!!! The cook was pissed that they had to make food. Like Gordon Ramsey going into a dive bar mad. All of these five stars are either friends or have never eaten at a restaurant with decent food. The grilled chicken salad was horrible. The lettuce was hot and the chicken was very bland and rubbery. The chicken was also hardly cut up. The lettuce was also very warm for the Ceasar salad. The Philly sub was not good either. It was hot and humid inside and smelled musty and moldy, like an old basement. Treated us like criminals and started yelling at us saying we were just trying to get free food and they were going to call the police. How were we trying to get free food when it was inedible? Paid just to leave. Will call my bank and have the charges reversed. Totally ruined the awesome day that we had at Kalahari.

The restaurant tried to kick out my friends family and charge them with trespassing despite them staying because they wanted to pay the bill. Terrible service. Our server visited us 3 times the whole time just for our order and bill. Plus the bathrooms were a mess
